摘要: A system for automatically maintaining the center frequency of a swept voltage controlled oscillator. At a known amplitude of sweep voltage input, a lock pulse is actuated. The oscillator output is divided by a number N and applied simultaneously with the reference signal to a phase and/or frequency detector. The detected signal is applied via a gate under the control of such lock pulse to a memorization unit whose output is used to maintain the center frequency.

摘要: A frequency tracker in which the input frequency to be tracked is first heterodyned by a pair of signals, in phase quadrature, at a first reference frequency thereby producing a pair of filtered signals, in phase quadrature, proportional to the difference in frequency between the input and reference frequency. The time derivative is taken of each of these filtered signals. The outputs of each of the differentiators are multiplied together with the filtered output of the opposite channel, with the multiplied outputs combined to form a signal proportional to the input power and the difference in frequency between the input and reference frequency. The combined outputs are integrated to provide an error signal, proportional to the frequency difference, which is periodically applied to the reference frequency oscillator to adjust its frequency so that it is more closely aligned with the input frequency.

摘要: Homodyne automatic frequency control circuitry maintains the mean or center output frequency of a controlled oscillator, e.g., the output of a voltage controlled oscillator effecting frequency modulation, equal to the output frequency of a reference oscillator. The composite AFC circuitry employs ganged sampling switches and a common mode error obviating common frequency detector (e.g., a discriminator) to alternately store voltages representative of the reference and controlled oscillator frequencies in capacitors connected to the inputs of a difference amplifier. The difference amplifier acts through an integrator to supply any necessary correction potential to the control port of the controlled oscillator when the signals stored in the two capacitors differ, signalling that the mean output frequency of the controlled oscillator has departed from that of the reference oscillator.

摘要: A pulse generator for use in an EDM power supply or the like wherein the pulse-on time and pulse-off time are each adjustable, substantially independently of the other. The circuit contains a pair of relaxation oscillators, one of which is associated with the on-time and one with the off-time of the output pulse train. The timed signals produced by the oscillators are shaped by respective Schmidt triggers for controlling a flip-flop which thereby generates the output pulse train. The flip-flop outputs are fed back to the oscillator inputs so as to allow only one of such oscillators to be active at any given time thereby allowing the on-period and off-period to be each independently timed.

摘要: A sine-cosine frequency tracking system is provided for tracking the center of power of a Doppler type input signal. The system of the invention includes a discriminator connected in an error feedback loop, and which develops an error signal whenever the center frequency of the input signal differs from the frequency of a pair of sine-cosine keying signals. The aforesaid discriminator incorporates solid state integrated circuitry, and it is constructed to eliminate the need for difficult trim adjustments which are necessary in the prior art systems. The aforesaid discriminator also serves to improve the accuracy of the system by removing error sources present in the prior art systems.
