    摘要: The presently disclosed subject matter includes a mobile compute device configure to produce a set of audiological assessment data based on a set of stimulus signals presented to a user via a source device and a set of response signals provided as a response to the set of stimulus signals. The mobile compute device identifies a personal audiological profile of the user at least based on a psychoacoustic model and the set of audiological assessment data. The mobile compute device builds a digital signal processing model including a set of audio digital signal processing functions. The mobile compute device executes the digital signal processing model to produce an output audio signal in response to an input audio signal received from the source device, the output audio signal is based on a modified version the input audio signal. The mobile compute device transmits the output audio signal via the source device.

    摘要: An calibrated hearing-aid tuning appliance includes a hearing-aid interface for programming settings of a hearing aid worn by a user. The appliance also includes a calibrated audio output subsystem including an audio interface, an audio amplifier, and a calibrated speaker. The audio output subsystem can consistently propagate sound waves having frequency response, sound pressure level, and distortion characteristics within predetermined tolerances. A memory stores pre-recorded sound files and programming instructions for heuristically tuning the hearing-aid. When the programming instructions are communicated to a CPU for execution via a CPU interface, the appliance automatically selects at least one of the pre-recorded sound files; automatically reproduces the selected sound files via the calibrated audio output subsystem; collects feedback from the user based on the sound files thereby reproduced; and automatically adjusts one or more of the settings based on the user's feedback.

    摘要: A battery pack is provided for use with a mobile phone. The battery pack includes audio signal power amplifier circuitry with an inductive coil. The inductive coil boosts the magnetic field strength of the audio signal received by the phone, so that a tele-coil circuit for a hearing aid can be used to pick up the audio signal received by the phone. Consequently, the picked up audio signal can be discerned from the magnetic noise created by the phone. Also, the use of the battery coil allows a tele-coil pick up of the audio signal even if the phone has a speaker that does not generate an appreciable magnetic field.

    摘要: The remote control of an operational parameter, such as the amplification factor (A) of the amplifier (19), of a hearing aid (1) occurs via a control signal in the form of acoustic waves (11) transmitted by a transmitter (10) of a remote control unit (2) and received by a pick-up (15) of the hearing aid (1). The acoustic waves can be ultrasonic waves or modulated waves and make it possible to reduce the size of the hearing aid, resulting in a more compact device that can easily be controlled remotely, for example, by means of a manually adjustable volume control located in the remote control unit.

    摘要: A signal processing system for hearing aids estimates the absolute quantity of noise in each of a plurality of frequency bands. The audio gains are adjusted so as to minimize the effect of upward spread of masking, wherein noise in lower frequency bands decreases the intelligibility of speech sounds in higher frequency bands. The noise level in each frequency band is estimated by monitoring the amplitude distribution of sound events in that frequency band.
