    摘要: A method for manufacturing an organic EL display device is disclosed. The method comprises preparing an organic EL light emitting device and a color conversion filter; placing the organic EL light emitting device and the color conversion filter in an environment in which concentrations of water and oxygen are controlled; applying a peripheral sealing agent with a ring shape around the color conversion filter; applying a filler material over the color conversion filter and inside the peripheral sealing agent; transferring the organic EL light emitting device and the color conversion filter into a vacuum chamber and evacuating the vacuum chamber; performing a preliminary alignment and bonding the organic EL light emitting device and the color conversion filter to obtain an aggregate; removing the aggregate to an environment in which concentrations of water and oxygen are controlled and pressure is at atmospheric pressure; and irradiating ultraviolet radiation to the aggregate to cure the peripheral sealing agent. The method reduces manufacturing costs and the need for complicated manufacturing equipment for performing a precise alignment in a vacuum environment. The method also prevents inclusion of water into an internal space and a filler material in the process of bonding an organic EL light emitting device and a color conversion filter.

A fluorescent layer emitting a longer wavelength and/or having a lower light conversion efficiency than other fluorescent layers is adjacent to the light source. A fluorescent layer emitting a shorter wavelength and/or having a higher light conversion efficiency than other fluorescent layers, is farthest from the light source. Accordingly, it is possible to increase the overall light conversion efficiency of the light-emitting device and the amount of light output from the light-emitting device.

The taper angle of a central portion of the insulating film is set within the range from 35null to 70null, thereby preventing the gradient of the film forming surface on which the EL film and the cathode are to be formed from being abruptly changed. On the thus-formed film forming surface, the EL film and the cathode can be formed so as to be uniform in thickness, so that occurrence of discontinuity in each of EL film and the cathode is prevented.

The electroluminescent display comprises at least a substrate, an electrode provided on the substrate, protrusions which each are provided on the substrate so as to cover the ends of the electrode and are convexly curved in section relatively to the surface of the substrate, and an electroluminescent layer provided in each opening which is located on the electrode and defined by adjacent protrusions. The pattern formed object comprises: a substrate; partition walls provided on the substrate; and a coating stacked on the substrate in its part between the partition walls, wherein the partition walls have a sloped liquid-nonrepellent surface and have such a sectional form that, at least in the lower part of the partition wall, as the distance from the substrate increases, the size of the partition wall in a direction parallel to the substrate decreases, and, in the coating, the ratio of the maximum thickness (Tmax) to the minimum thickness (Tmin), Tmax/Tmin, is not more than 130% as measured in the coating in its part between the lower ends of the partition walls adjacent to each other.
