    摘要: Disclosed is a method for embedding an electronic device, for instance an RFID tag, into a mat, the mat having a bottom support intended to contact a floor, in use, and including a first material, a walkable layer arranged on top of the bottom support, including a second material. The electronic device is supported by a solid carrier. The bottom support and the walkable layer of the mat are fully assembled, so as the mat is already available for use to walk on, before embedding the electronic device; a material of the solid carrier and the first material of the bottom support of the mat are suitable to join if contacted each other and subject to a temperature and/or a pressure above predetermined thresholds, the pressure pushing the electronic device against the bottom support. Embedding the electronic device to the mat includes placing the solid carrier on a flat portion of the bottom support of the mat; applying the pressure and/or temperature to the solid carrier; ending application of pressure and/or temperature. The step of applying pressure and/or temperature is ended after the solid carrier is melted in the solid carrier and/or dissolved, and the electronic device remains embedded in the bottom support. Embedding is not reversible and the solid carrier is no longer detachable from the bottom substrate.

    摘要: A mat for removing debris and sanitizing the shoes of a person comprises a base that has a bottom side adapted for laying on a floor surface, a top side, two side edges, a front edge, and a rear edge. The top side of the base has a pair of shoe cleaning spaces that may contain recesses therein that each defines a recess side edge. A sanitizing circuit includes a power source, one or more UV sanitizing lamps each disposed for illuminating the person's shoes within one of the shoe recesses, and a switch for applying power to the UV sanitizing lamps. As such, when the person stands with his shoes in the shoe recesses and activates the switch, the UV sanitizing lamps activate to sanitize the person's shoes, and particularly the bottom sole of the shoes and the sides of the shoes.

    摘要: A color-coded surgical table covering or floor mat and/or a surgical color-coded skin marker can be used in a medical setting to identify a bodily location of patient for which a medical procedure is to take place. The surgical color-coded skin marker may be used to mark the location of the medical procedure site on a patient. The medical patient would be oriented to match the surgical table covering or floor mat body form that identifies, through color and orientation, or text, the bodily location of a medical procedure to take place. The combination of the two (table covering/floor mat and skin marker) provides an unmistakable indication that will help limit or reduce wrong-site medical procedures. A surgical mat using a color-coded system or using visual indicia may be used to identify the medical procedure site to medical practitioners, in order to reduce wrong-site medical procedures.

The mats include a main body defined by a plurality of sidewalls and two exterior surface walls opposing each other, a lip structure extending outwardly from the plurality of sidewalk around a portion of a periphery of the main body, and at least one fiber-reinforcement layer arranged between the two exterior surface walls of the mat. The methods include depositing a first deposition layer of material within a mold, positioning at least one fiber-reinforcement layer on the first deposition layer, depositing a second deposition layer of material within the mold over the at least one fiber-reinforcement layer and the first deposition layer, and treating the first deposition layer, the at least one fiber-reinforcement layer, and the second deposition layer to form a mat.
