摘要: A layout for a tapering rear section of an aircraft passenger cabin. The layout includes a seat row positioned between an aisle and an exterior wall, and a closet positioned behind the seat row. A first portion of the closet extends behind the seat row and a second portion of the closet extends into gap space formed between an outboard side of the seat row and the exterior wall. The closet forms interior space dimensioned, for example, to accommodate a folded wheelchair positioned along the exterior wall, as well as interior space behind the seat row. The second portion further forms an exterior surface for use by a passenger in the seat row, for instance a horizontal surface including a provision for mounting a bassinet. The interior space is accessible from the rear facing side of the closet to facilitate stowing and retrieving items from the interior space.

摘要: A thin profile retractor can be installed in a vehicle without the needing to cut large holes in the OEM floor. A plurality of retractors combined in a single housing may define a drop-in, in-floor system. The thickness of the system is approximately equal to or slightly thicker than the thickness of aftermarket flooring that is typically placed on top of the OEM flooring or vehicle frame, e.g., plywood. Only small holes need to be drilled into the OEM floor to secure the system to the frame. The retractor includes components and configurations that permit the thin profile and/or allow the retractor to perform better during accidents. The retractor includes a locking member biased by a spring to a locked position and the drum is isolated from the force of the spring. The retractor includes a friction spacer to separate the drum from the housing and to reduce friction.

A process of the disclosed technology can include steps for receiving a request for a wheelchair-accessible autonomous vehicle (WAV) to execute an ingress function, wherein the ingress function includes a deployment of a wheelchair ramp by the WAV, sending an ingress command to the WAV in response to the request, wherein the ingress command comprises instructions cause the WAV to execute the ingress function at a specified pick-up location, and receiving feedback from the WAV, the feedback includes sensor data associated with a wheelchair ramp and status information associated with the ingress function. Machine-readable media and systems are also provided.

摘要: A patient transport apparatus is provided for use with a retainer of a transport vehicle. The patient transport apparatus comprises a support structure comprising a patient support surface to support a patient. An engagement member is coupled to the support structure and arranged to engage the retainer when unloading the patient transport apparatus from the transport vehicle. A dampener is operable in a standby state or a resistance state such that the dampener provides increased resistance to movement of the patient transport apparatus in the resistance state as compared to the standby state. The resistance state of the dampener is activated by manually moving the patient transport apparatus in a first direction and the standby state is activated by manually moving the patient transport apparatus in a second direction, opposite the first direction.

摘要: A wheelchair docking system including a frame having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion being movable relative to the lower portion between a lowered position and a raised position. A coupler mechanism engages a wheelchair during a docking operation. The system also includes a first latching mechanism being movable between a retracted position and a latching position such that the first latching mechanism is spaced from the coupler mechanism. A second latching mechanism moves the upper portion of the frame between its lowered position and raised position. The first latching mechanism is partially retracted by a wheelchair during the docking operation, and the first latching mechanism is biased to its latching position when the coupler mechanism engages the wheelchair.
