    Abstract: The present inventive concept relates to a microfluidic system (10) for diluting a sample liquid of a predetermined sample volume. The system (10) comprises: a first sample channel (100) ending in a first valve (110), wherein the first sample channel (100) is arranged to contain the sample liquid of the predetermined volume; a buffer reservoir (120) arranged for receiving a buffer liquid; a timing channel (102) connecting the buffer reservoir (120) and the first valve (110), wherein the timing channel (102) is arranged to draw, by capillary action, buffer liquid from the buffer reservoir (120) to an output (1102) of the first valve (110) and to open the first valve (110), whereby sample liquid present in the first sample channel (100) is allowed to flow through the output (1102) of the first valve (110) together with buffer liquid from the timing channel (102); a buffer channel (104) connecting the buffer reservoir (120) and a second valve (112), wherein the buffer channel (104) is arranged to draw, by capillary action, buffer liquid from the buffer

    Abstract: A mixing device for mixing a powder-liquid mixture, comprises a movable body, arranged within the housing, with a channel formed between the housing and the movable body. An actuator moves the movable body between a closed and an opened position. The movable body comprises a first body section having a first set of openings, and a second body section having a second set of openings. The housing comprises a sleeve with a covering section that covers the second set of openings when the movable body is in the closed position, for minimizing a flow of the mixture through the second set of openings, and be offset from the second set of openings when the movable body is in the open position, for allowing the mixture to flow into the channel through the second set of openings.

    Abstract: A beverage carbonating device includes a carbon dioxide production unit and a pressure container. The carbon dioxide production unit produces carbon dioxide gas by mixing at least two reactants. The pressure container stores the produced carbon dioxide gas in a pressurized gaseous state. As a detachable module, the pressure container is sealingly detachable from the carbon dioxide production unit. Accordingly, the carbon dioxide gas is stored and sealed in the pressure container when detached from the carbon dioxide production unit. Further, a beverage vessel is used with the beverage carbonating device.

    Abstract: A flow control arrangement for use with a pump in an aquarium includes a main body having an inlet flow conduit and an outlet flow conduit. The main body has a cylindrical wall having first and second opposite open ends and defining an open interior; and a through hole extending through the wall to the open interior. A flow control dial closes the first open end; and an aeration flow dial closes the second open end and is rotatably adjustable relative to the main body. The aeration flow dial has a tubular aeration wall extending into the open interior. The aeration wall has an aperture, wherein the aeration flow dial can be rotatably adjustable to control axial alignment of the aperture with the through hole in the wall of the main body to selectively adjust a size of a resulting orifice from the open interior of the main body to outside of the main body.

    Abstract: A nozzle assembly includes a mixing channel and an aerator. The mixing channel has upstream and downstream ends defining a flow direction through the mixing channel and includes a housing wall and a mixer. The housing wall defines a flow passage and includes an inlet portion and a tip orifice. The inlet portion disposed at the upstream end and configured to receive a first material and a second material. The tip orifice is disposed at the downstream end and is configured to emit a plural component material from the mixing channel. The mixer is disposed within the mixing channel and is configured to mix the first material and the second material into the plural component material. The aerator is configured to flow nucleation air to a location downstream of an upstream end of the mixer and into a flow of the plural component material.
