    摘要: A flame port structure for burning a gas includes a first continuous spiral strip, a second continuous spiral strip and a first outflow passage. The first continuous spiral strip has a first side edge, a second side edge and a first plurality of annular segments, and the second continuous spiral strip has a third side edge, a fourth side edge and a second plurality of annular segments, wherein each of the first plurality of annular segments and each of the second plurality of annular segments respectively have two first longitudinal opposite surfaces and two second longitudinal opposite surfaces. The first outflow passage has a first defining wall formed on each of the first respective longitudinal surfaces from the first side edge to the second side edge. The first outflow passage is structured so that the gas produces a specific combustion.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method of forming a heat exchanger turbulizer apparatus including a member having a longitudinal axis, a lateral width and a plurality of strips including first strips and second strips, each strip extending widthwise and being corrugated longitudinally so as to form a plurality of laterally spaced-apart sections connected to one another by bridges projecting from the sections in a common direction, the bridges of the first and second strips extending in the same direction and the corrugations of the second strips being offset laterally from the corrugations of the first strips. The method comprises: crimping longitudinally-corrugated strip material between first and second forming dies to form said apparatus, said dies being adapted such that substantially all lateral movement of strip material in crimping results from strip material being drawn laterally by material that has been displaced in a direction parallel to the direction of die movement.

    摘要: An improved panel crimping machine for crimping a building panel having a curved central portion is disclosed. The building panel includes a novel curved central portion connected to two diverging inclined side wall portions in lieu of a straight central portion. Replacing the straight curved portion with a curved portion provides the building panel with increased strength and rigidity, thereby allowing the building panel to withstand increased positive and negative bending moments. Thus, a building constructed of panels having such curved central portions will reduce the present design constraints and increase the size and shape of buildings constructed of such panels.

    摘要: The invention provides a method of making a three-dimensional metal structure, the method being characterized by the following steps: making longitudinal cuts in a sheet metal strip by causing the strip to pass between two rollers carrying annular knives whose blades are discontinuous and angularly offset from one roller to the other so as to form parallel rectilinear chords that are interconnected at regular intervals by connecting bridges and by linking legs, two adjacent chords being provided either with U-shaped bridges for connection with two legs of the same orientation, or with S-shaped bridges for connection with two legs of opposite orientations, and the U-shaped bridges are oriented in opposite directions from one chord to the next; slicing the strip transversely by sectioning said chords and said bridges at different longitudinal positions; moving every other precut chord into an offset plane by exerting vertical thrust on the chords carrying the U-shaped bridges so as to cause the legs to pivot and to bring the ends of said chords into vertical alignment with the S-shaped bridges; and stretching the strip in a transverse direction.

    摘要: A heat transfer cell for employment in heating, ventilation and air conditioning applications, and an apparatus for producing metallic plates which can be employed in the construction of the heat transfer cell. The cell comprises a plurality of heat conductive plates stacked on each other and having upstanding fins extending substantially the length of each plate. A leading edge portion of each fin is folded laterally to thereby create a turbulent effect to air traveling linearly between adjacent fins and plates. The apparatus of the present invention comprises an endless chain having a plurality of generally equally spaced apart work supporting anvil links and a path deflecting, chain deflecting, idler roller operatively arranged to deflect the endless chain arcuately away from a preceding plane to thereby reduce the space between adjacent anvil links and simultaneously capture between the adjacent links a length of metallic material of a web traveling thereacross to thereby form a fin from the length of captured metallic material.
