Abstract: A core according to one aspect of the present disclosure is a core that is inserted into a space between a skin and a stringer in a step of integrally molding the skin and the stringer, the skin including fiber-reinforced resin, the stringer having a hat-shaped section that is open toward the skin. The core includes: a first die that extends along a longitudinal direction of the stringer and contacts the skin; a second die that extends along the longitudinal direction of the stringer, is adjacent to the first die, and contacts the skin; and a third die that extends along the longitudinal direction of the stringer, is located at an opposite side of the skin across the first die and the second die, and contacts both the first die and the second die.

Abstract: The injection mold has a mold core including a first part and a second part. The parts are mobile relative to one another between a first injection position in which they are moved together to form an injection cavity permitting the injection of a material to form an injected part (50; 50′), and a second demolding position in which they are moved away from one another to permit the demolding of the injected part (50; 50′). The injection mold has at least one ejector designed to contribute to the demolding, and at least one movable intermediate plate (10; 10′, 20′), separate from the two parts of the mold core. The intermediate pate is arranged between the two parts of the mold core, and has at least one cutout (12; 12′, 22′) forming at least one part of the injection cavity of the injection mold.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a hollow injection-moulded part, in particular a primary packaging means for medical applications by an injection moulding method, comprising the following method steps:
a) Providing a first female die tool having a first mould cavity and a mould core formed as a male die tool;
b) Introducing a mould core into the first mould cavity so that a first cavity is formed and the mould core extends beyond the mould cavity in the axial direction (X), thereby bringing the mould core into operative contact with the first female die tool and/or with a receiving member;
c) Injecting a first plastic material into the first cavity so that a first portion of the injection-moulded part is formed;
d) Transferring the first portion of the injection-moulded part to a second cavity;
e) Injecting a second plastic material into the second cavity so that a second portion is formed directly on the first portion of the injection-moulded part.-

Abstract: Forming systems and assemblies as disclosed herein comprise a composite material comprising a structural component and a resin component combined with the reinforcing component. A forming element is disposed within the composite material and has a coefficient of thermal expansion that is greater than that of the composite material. The forming element is positioned to provide a desired integral structural reinforcement and/or surface feature to the composite. The composite material may comprise one or more passages extending from a surface thereof to the forming element. The composite material may be cured by heat to take a set configuration and then allowed to cool. The cooling of the composite material and the forming element enables the forming element to contract relative to the composite material and become delaminated therefrom to facilitate easy removal, and thereby provide an improved method and assembly for making structural reinforcing features in composite structures.

Abstract: A preform mold (100) including a core plate (210), a cavity plate (410) and a plurality of mold stacks (MS) mounted between the core and cavity plates (210, 410). Each mold stack (MS) includes a core insert (250) mounted to the core plate (210), a cavity insert (440) mounted to the cavity plate (410) and split mold inserts (350) mounted between the core and cavity inserts (250, 440). The core inserts (250) are mounted to the core plate (210) by fasteners accessible from a rear side of the core plate (210). When the mold (100) is assembled, the core inserts (250) can be secured by the fasteners in a fixed condition in which they are immovable relative to the core plate (210). Also disclosed is a method of aligning the core inserts (250) by securing the core inserts (250) from a floating condition, in which they are able to slide relative to the core plate (210) along a sliding interface therebetween, to the fixed condition.

Abstract: A mandrel for processing a part is described that includes a solid mandrel body with an elastomeric material, and hollow micro-particles embedded within the solid mandrel body in a uniform distribution. The hollow micro-particles deform in response to a change in a processing environment resulting in a distribution of voids in the solid mandrel body. A method for fabricating a composite part is also described that includes placing a base composite layer into a cavity of a tooling surface, inserting the mandrel into the cavity, applying a skin to the mandrel and the base composite layer forming a package, enclosing the package in a vacuum bag and curing the base composite layer and the skin such that during curing the hollow micro-particles deform resulting in the distribution of voids in the solid mandrel body, and removing the mandrel from the cavity of the tooling surface following the curing.

Abstract: A core mould element can be mounted between first and second mould parts. The first and second mould parts and the core mould element can be mounted between first and second thermal platens. The thermal platens can have generally planar faces for mounting in a press, for maintaining a desired pressure within the mould assembly. The thermal platens can provide for heating and cooling the mould assembly, and each can include a central portion and end portions, with thermal breaks between the central portion and the end portions. Bores can extend through the central and end portions, for receiving heating elements and pipes for cooling fluid. The end portions can include bores for a cooling fluid for cooling the end portions.
