摘要： A packaging machine for placing articles into a carton includes rotating flight assemblies that receive a carton or carton blank, and rotate the carton blank and carton with articles while the flight assemblies move downstream. The flight assemblies each include two fixed segments and one segment that includes a block and associated bracket that rotate as the flight assembly is pulled through the machine by a conveying system. A method includes carton blanks being fed by a carton feeder onto the flight assemblies. Articles are formed into an article group, which is then placed onto a carton blank. As the blank and article group move in a downstream direction, the side panels of the carton blank are wrapped around the article group and the carton and article group are rotated to assist in closing the carton end flaps.

The shrink film is wrapped around the cluster, thereby forming a lateral opening that would otherwise result in a shrink eye. 摘要： A method of packaging products, in particular moist products, wherein an areal packaging material is positioned at the outer surfaces of a product while forming fold lines such that the product is completely surrounded by packaging material. The packaging material is first folded adjacent to a lower side region while forming side surface regions and end face regions such that a container open at one side is formed. Sections of the packaging material that project beyond the rim of the container open at one side in the regions of mutually oppositely disposed product side surfaces are folded so far over one another while covering the product upper side of the product until they contact one another in order then to be sealed with one another in a first sealing region. In a second and third sealing region, sections of the packaging material which project outwardly from the product in the region of mutually oppositely disposed end face regions are sealed with such regions of the packaging material which project outwardly from the product from the upper side region and from the side surface regions of the packaging material.

摘要： Methods for placing apertures in a film material wrapping of soap bars so that the soap bar fragrance can be readily detected outside of the packaged soap bar. The apertures can be shaped apertures or slit apertures. The apertures can be placed in the film material at the time of the decoration of the film material or at the time of feeding the film material to be placed around the soap bar. The apertures can be any surface of the wrapped soap bar, but should be of an overall surface area to emit not more than 60% of the fragrance or 50% of the moisture content of the soap bar over a period of 6 months. In addition the surface of the film material adjacent the soap bar may contain a coating of the fragrance of the soap bar, or in the alternative the surface of an inner insert material such as a stiffener can contain a coating of the fragrance of the soap bar. Further the apertures can be coordinated with the decoration and when the decoration is a botanical the fragrance of the soap bar and that of the botanical can be coordinated.

摘要： Goods to be packed are continuously collected in units of goods. Parallelly therewith plain package blanks are preformed to package containers, which are completely open at least at one vertical side. The units of goods and the open package containers are moved in a continuous feeding movement side by side with the same speed, and with the open container side facing the unit of goods. During the feeding movement a unit of goods is pushed sideways into a package container. The open container side or sides are closed and sealed, and the package is moved away from the packaging station. The front side and the rear side of the preformed package container as considered in the feeding direction are widened in relation to each other before the units of goods are pushed into the containers to facilitate the pushing in of the units of goods into the package containers. The front side and the rear side are strongly pressed into contact with the unit of goods and are secured in the strongly pressed position by sealing the remaining sides of the container.

摘要： Flat blanks are fed from a stack by bending back a flap to form an inside corner, engaging the corner with a puller bar and pulling the blank from the stack and along a path past plows which bend the blank to form it about a mandrel while a product to be packaged is moved along inside the mandrel in synchronism with the blank movement. Pusher element retraction means are also disclosed as are rotation means for rotating partially completed cartons to orient extended end tabs and flaps with stationary plows for effecting end closure of the cartons thus formed.
