Abstract:
A shrink film includes at least one layer of polyethylene. The layer has a thickness of about 1 mil to about 3 mil. Materials and methods for forming crosslinked shrink films via a blown film extrusion process are described.
Abstract:
A heat shrink tubing, which can be readily peeled in the longitudinal direction after use (e.g., to remove the heat shrink tubing from an underlying material) is provided herein. The heat shrink tubing can be of various compositions, and generally is produced from at least one fluorinated, copolyrneric resin. The tubing can exhibit desirable physical properties such as good optical clarity (e.g., translucency or transparency) and/or peelability, exhibiting one or more of complete, straight, and even peeling along a given length of tubing.
Abstract:
An apparatus for producing a packaged unit includes a separating device, a shrinking device, and a manipulation unit. The separating device separates out individual products from a product stream and combines them to form a product cluster. The shrinking device secures the product cluster on all sides by applying a shrink film wrapped around the product cluster in a way that forms at least one lateral opening before being shrunk on. The manipulation unit places the shrink film against the product cluster at least in the region of the lateral opening, thereby forming a closed surface in the form of a closure with overlapping fold regions.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to an insulation packaging system. The insulation packaging system includes a plurality of insulation packages with first ends and second ends. The plurality of insulation packages defining an axis. A first film wraps around the axis to compress and couple the plurality of insulation packages together, while a second film wraps around the first and second ends of the plurality of insulation packages. The first and second films are different films.
Abstract:
The inventors have discovered that certain hot melt adhesives can be used to form a stable stacked pallet that can limit the need for additional packaging materials e.g. inter-layer and pallet wrap.
Abstract:
A method of packaging products and a packaging arrangement. A first product unit is wrapped at least in a first protective cover. The first protective cover envelops the first product unit and creates a first wrapped first product unit. A second product is wrapped at least in a second protective cover, such that the second protective cover envelops the second product unit and creates a second wrapped second product unit. The first wrapped first product unit is arranged adjacent to the second wrapped second product unit to create a product unit arrangement. A band is formed circumferentially around the product unit arrangement to create a secured product unit arrangement. The band has at least one graphic. The secured product unit arrangement is wrapped in a protective wrapper. The protective wrapper is heated to shrink the wrapper around the secured product unit arrangement. The graphic remains intact and visible.
Abstract:
A polyethylene-based polymer composition suitable for use in a shrink film, the polyethylene-based polymer composition comprising a low density polyethylene having a density of from 0.917 g/cc to 0.935 g/cc and melt index, I2, of from 0.1 g/10 min to 5 g/10 min, a linear low density polyethylene having a density of from 0.900 g/cc to 0.965 g/cc and melt index, I2, of from 0.05 g/10 min to 15 g/10 min, or combinations thereof, a material that absorbs radiation in the near-infrared, visible, and ultraviolet spectral wavelength ranges, and optionally, a medium density polyethylene, a high density polyethylene, or combinations thereof.
Abstract:
A package assembly for packaging a replacement mower blade is provided. The package assembly includes a blade hang tab removably attached to an end of a mower blade. A shrink film tube is positioned about the mower blade and blade hang tab, wherein the shrink film is heated to shrink the shrink film and secure the blade hang tab to the mower blade. In another embodiment, the package assembly includes multiple blades encased within shrink film with a blade hang tab attached to one of the blades within the shrink film.
Abstract:
Multilayer structures, methods of making the same and packages made therefrom are provided. The multilayer structures are useful for packaging bone-in meat or other like products. More specifically, the multilayer structures have sufficient rigidity and strength to contain bone-in meat or other like products. In addition, multilayer structures can easily seal to themselves or to other structures. Moreover, the multilayer structures are biaxially oriented and heat-shrinkable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pack including a group of stackable containers each of which includes a body, a shoulder, a neck, and a bottom defining a recess shaped so as to receive the neck and at least part of the shoulder of an identical underlying container; and a flexible film enclosing the group of containers, said film having bottom openings aligned with each hollow recess. The film closely fits the base of the containers on a bottom contact area that annularly extends around the bottom openings; and the film further has top openings through which the necks extend, the film closely fitting the shoulders of the containers on a top contact area that annularly extends around the top openings.
