    摘要： A thread clamping device for a textile machine includes a clamping pad which is pressed against a clamping rib by a compression spring. The spring force can be adjusted, independent of other like devices associated with the machine, by an adjusting mechanism including a slider with an inclined surface supporting one end of the spring, wherein movement of the slider alters the precompression of the spring. The clamp is normally held open by a cam which overrides the spring, but when thread tension falls below an adjustable threshold, a tension monitor automatically activates the clamp.

    摘要： A filament tensioner for controlling the tension of filament or roving as it is wound onto an article includes means for sensing the tension in the filament as it is being transferred from a spool and means coupled to the tension sensing means for adjusting the output torque of a motor which drives the spool to in turn maintain the filament tension at a desired value. The tension sensing means includes a pivoted arm, a roller rotatably coupled to an end of the pivoted arm, the roller being engaged by the filament so that the pivoted arm is pivoted to a position determined by the tension in the filament and means for generating a position signal representing the position of the pivoted arm. In the preferred embodiment, the position signal is utilized by a pulse width modulated drive system to control the output torque of the motor.

During the assembly process, one-way snare apparatuses and methods may be configured to automatically isolate elastic materials that may break. The one-way snares may include a housing and a snare member movably connected with the housing, wherein the snare member is movable relative to the housing between a first position and a second position. The one-way snares are adapted to permit advancement of continuous elastic strands in a first direction through the housing when the snare members are in the first position, and to prevent an end portion a broken elastic strand from retracting in a second direction through the housing when the snare member is in the second position, wherein the second direction is opposite the first direction.

    摘要： The cable puller employs a conically tapered capstan and self-contained motor both carried on a readily collapsible and portable frame. The puller is adapted for placing inside of a manhole where the capstan is aligned with the duct through which the cable is to be pulled. Several such cable pullers may be operated in concert to pull a theoretically endless fiber optic cable at a controlled speed and without exceeding the tensile strength of the cable. Tension on the cable effects the frictional gripping force between the capstan and the cable looped there around and this gripping force controls the extent to which the cable is permitted to climb up and slip down the conical incline of the capstan to a point where equilibrium is reached. A radio-controlled sensor is provided at each pulling station to signal cable stoppage faults and to respond to faults signaled by other pulling stations by shut down of all stations until the fault is corrected.

    摘要： The package lift apparatus serves for lifting a wound yarn package in contact with a rotating drive roll which drives the yarn package in a textile machine. Known equipment of this type requires a considerable degree of manual operation or exhibits a relatively complicated, and thus, expensive construction which is prone to malfunction. These drawbacks are avoided with the inventive yarn package lift apparatus which contains a piston-and-cylinder unit, wherein the piston rod of the piston carries a package support member. During one time interval the piston is exposed to a drive force which moves the package support member against a lower region of the package surface and thus lifts the yarn package from the drive roll. When the package support member is in an extended position the pressure or force exerted by the yarn package upon this package support member causes canting of the piston against the cylinder, so that from the moment of such canting of the piston the package support member is fixedly clamped or jammed in its yarn package supporting position. Due to the action of a continually exerted return or restoring force the piston and the package support member move back into their starting positions whenever there is merely exerted a slight brief lifting of the yarn package.
