摘要: A composition with a kinematic viscosity for cooling and lubricating a drive system of an electric or hybrid vehicle, measured at 100° C. in accordance with the standard ASTM D445, in the range 3 to 10 mm2/s. 摘要: A method for preparing a final grease product comprising steps of: (a) mixing a polymeric thickener, which comprises a polymer of propylene, and a lubricating base oil at a temperature above the melting point of the polymeric thickener, wherein the polymeric thickener is present in an amount of 11.5-15.5 wt %, based on the total weight of the mixture so obtained; (b) cooling the mixture as obtained in step (a); (c) subjecting the cooled mixture as obtained in step (b) to a first mechanical treatment, to obtain an intermediate grease; (d) subjecting the intermediate grease as obtained in step (c) to a second mechanical treatment, carried out at a temperature in the range of from 50-90° C., to obtain the final grease product. The method can be applied to manufacturing of a grease.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a method for controlling soot induced viscosity increase in diesel engines, by using as the diesel engine lubricant an oil formulation comprising a base oil containing about 10 to 80 wt % GTL base stock and/or base oil and/or hydrodewaxed or hydroisomerized/catalytic (or solvent) dewaxed base stock and/or base oil in combination with 20 to 90 wt % conventional Group I petroleum derived base oil, said base oil being further combined with a polymeric viscosity modifier, and to the lubricating oil which effects such control over soot induced viscosity increase.

摘要: A polymer thickened lubricating grease composition with improved resistance to high operating temperatures (constant and/or peak), containing 1) a lubricating base oil, 2) a polymeric thickener, containing a) a high melting point component comprising at least one polymer with a melting point (ASTM D-2117) of more than 200.degree. C., especially more than 225.degree. C., and b) a low molecular weight component comprising a (co- or homo-) polymer of propylene with a weight average molecular weight 200,000. The grease preferably has a dropping point of >150.degree. C., more preferably 180.degree.-220.degree. C., and is suitable for use in high operating temperature applications.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to lubricant compositions comprising a branched copolymer and methods for making such compositions. Lubricant compositions of the present disclosure comprise an oil and a copolymer and have a high temperature high shear (HTHS) viscosity of about 5 or less, shear stability index (30 cycles) of from about 2% to about 80%, a ratio of thickening efficiency to shear stability index (30 cycles) of from about 1:2 to about 1:30, a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of from about 3 cSt to about 30 cSt, and a thickening efficiency of about 1 or more. In another class of embodiments, the present disclosure provides a lubricant composition comprising a first and a second copolymers wherein the first copolymer has an ethylene content higher than that of the second copolymer, and wherein at least one of the two copolymers is a long chain branched ethylene copolymer.

摘要: Bottlebrush poly(alpha olefin)s of high carbon number, greater than 12 such as poly(octadecene), are used as a thickener for a synthetic base oil grease lubricant that is based on oligomerized alpha olefin with carbon number from 7 to 12, such as oligo(decene). Dispersion aids are not required in the present lubricants because poly(octadecene) can be dissolved in oligo(decene). The lubricant is a solid grease formed by percolation/network of the poly(octadecene) crystals, at a sufficient concentration, after the crystallization of poly(octadecene), and water resistant having oxidation/high temperature stability.

摘要: In some embodiments, ethylene-propylene random copolymers as viscosity modifiers were synthesized with pyridyldiamido catalyst systems and a chain transfer agent. In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides for ethylene-propylene random copolymers having an ethylene content between about 45 wt % and about 55 wt %. In some embodiments, the ethylene-propylene random copolymer is used as a viscosity modifier in a lubricating composition and a fuel composition.
