The present invention relates to a polymer thickener for lubricant grease compositions, wherein the thickener comprises a mixture of (1) a high molecular weight (co- or homo-)polymer of propylene with a weight average molecular weight .gtoreq.200,000 and (2) a low molecular weight (co- or homo-)polymer of propylene with a weight average molecular weight .ltoreq.100,000. The invention further relates to a lubricating grease composition comprising a lubricating oil and the above polymeric thickener, as well as a method for preparing said grease composition. Also, the invention relates to the use of such a polymer thickener in the preparation of lubricating grease compositions with improved oil bleeding characteristics at low temperature and improved noise characteristics and/or improved mechanical stability.

Disclosed is a novel diesel engine oil composition for fuel efficiency and endurance performance. The diesel engine oil composition may maximize frictional resistance and wear resistance by facilitating the formation of a lubricating film on a metal surface, extend an oil change cycle with excellent engine protection ability, and improve fuel efficiency due to friction reduction. The diesel engine oil composition include: base oil; a calcium-based or magnesium-based sulfonate detergent dispersant; a viscosity index improver selected from the group consisting of a diene copolymer, a polystyrene-diene copolymer and a hydrogenated polystyrene-diene copolymer; and a low friction agent including molybdenum dithiocarbamate (MoDTC) and glycerol monooleate (GMO).

Electrical and optical equipment in the form of cables, connectors, plugs etc. have to be protected against harmful influences penetrating from outside, particularly water, and also against mechanical damage during laying or as a result of exposure to heat. The filling compound is based on a stellate substance, i.e. a substance having a branched molecular structure in which, ideally, 3 or more branches, more particularly polymeric chains, radiate from a single branching point. The filling compound is flexible at very low temperatures but, on the other hand, does not run out, even at extremely high temperatures.

A lubricating oil suitable for machinery which may come into incidental contact with food is described, which contains a food grade base oil and a combination of food grade additives including a thickener, an antioxidant, a rust inhibitor, an anti-wear additive, an antifoamant, optionally a metal passivator, and 0.2 wt % or less coupling agent. The lubricating oil exhibits good resistance to wear, oxidation and rust, and reduced sludging at equipment surface temperatures of about 200.degree. F. and higher.

C., especially more than 225.degree. C., and b) a low molecular weight component comprising a (co- or homo-) polymer of propylene with a weight average molecular weight 200,000. The grease preferably has a dropping point of >150.degree. C., more preferably 180.degree.-220.degree. C., and is suitable for use in high operating temperature applications.
