    摘要: A fiber-based, plastic-free drinking cup is formed by providing a fiber-based slurry comprising a hydrophobic additive and a strength additive, then forming a drinking cup component by compressing and drying the fiber-based slurry in a form press assembly having an internal shape characterized by a conic frustum. The fiber-based slurry may include a dry pulp mixture of virgin fiber and recycled fiber, the hydrophobic additive is 1.0-10.0% of the dry pulp weight, and the strength additive is 1.0-10.0% of the dry pulp weight. In particular, the fiber-based slurry may include about 50% bleached hardwood, about 50% bleached softwood, about 2.5% strength additive, and about 3.5% hydrophobic additive by dry pulp weight.

    摘要: A paper product having improved printing characteristics and a method of making the paper product. This paper product has a fibrous substrate and top layer of surface enhanced pulp fibers that is integrally coupled to the top surface of the fibrous substrate. The paper product is produced by providing an aqueous slurry formed from a blend of cellulosic fibers and water and at least partially dewatering the aqueous slurry of cellulosic fibers and water to form the fibrous substrate. Subsequently, a surface treatment formed from an aqueous composition of water and surface enhanced pulp fibers is applied to the top surface of the fibrous substrate and thereafter the treated fibrous substrate is dried to form a paper product having enhanced printing characteristics.

    摘要: The invention relates to a transfer paper (4) for use for transferring a print of ink onto a fabric, said transfer paper comprising: i) a base paper (2); ii) an additive (8) comprising a starch component, and a binding agent; wherein said starch component being a starch selected from the group comprising: unmodified starch or a modified starch or a mixture thereof; and wherein said binding agent being a binding agent selected from the group comprising: an alkyl ketene dimer, a tall oil/fumaric acid copolymer, a styrene/acrylate copolymer and an alkenyl succinic anhydride and a mixture thereof; wherein said base paper (2) comprises an amount of said additive by being impregnated therewith; and wherein said base paper (2) having a water uptake as defined by a Cobb-45 value of 10-100 g/m2 and a having a Gurley porosity of 10-140 seconds. The present invention furthermore relates to uses of the transfer paper (4).
