    Abstract: A downhole system for multistage fracturing a subterranean formation that includes a first cluster of valves arranged on a tubular in an initially closed position. There is a second cluster of valves downhole of the first cluster, which is also arranged on the tubular in a respective initially closed position. The system has a plugging device operably coupled with a workstring, that is moved into the tubular. The plugging device is operable to move from a run-in configuration to a set configuration.

    Abstract: A mechanical isolation plug and method for monitoring the mechanical isolation plug in a wellbore, including deploying and setting the mechanical isolation plug at a target position in the wellbore to isolate downhole of the plug from uphole of the plug, allowing fluid downhole to flow through a perforated carrier of the plug to contact a tracer system in the perforated carrier to release a tracer into the downhole fluid, flowing produced fluid produced uphole of the plug through the wellbore to the Earth surface, collecting a sample of the produced fluid at the Earth surface and performing analysis of the sample for detecting presence of the tracer in the sample, and evaluating integrity of the mechanical isolation plug based on the analysis.

    Abstract: A dual-pump assembly configured to sample downhole heavy hydrocarbons includes a tubing, a perforated shield, multiple packers and multiple pumps corresponding to the multiple packers. The tubing can be installed at a downhole location within a wellbore formed in a subterranean zone including a hydrocarbon zone from which hydrocarbons flow into the wellbore. The perforated shield is connected to the tubing. The perforated shield can be installed in the hydrocarbon zone surrounding the tubing. The perforated shield includes multiple perforations through which hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon zone flow to the tubing. The multiple packers are connected to the perforated shield and can, when activated, isolate the hydrocarbon zone from the subterranean zone. The multiple pumps can activate the multiple packers and can draw a sample of the hydrocarbons that flow from the hydrocarbon zone through the perforated shield into the tubing.

    Abstract: A packer assembly includes (a) a mandrel bearing an expandable packer element, the mandrel having a ratchet section, a lower collet retaining shoulder, and defining a plurality of longitudinal slots; (b) a push sleeve connected to a ratchet ring by at least one shear pin, wherein the ratchet ring is disposed between push sleeve and the mandrel and engages the mandrel ratchet section; (c) a shift sleeve comprising an inner shift sleeve slidingly disposed within the mandrel and having a lower collet, the inner shift sleeve defining a profile for engaging a shifting tool, and an outer shift sleeve slidingly around the mandrel and connected to the inner shift sleeve with a plurality of bolts, wherein each bolt passes through a longitudinal slot defined by the mandrel; (d) wherein the shift sleeve and push sleeve is moveable between a running position and a released position. Also disclosed are methods of using a packer actuated by a sliding sleeve.
