摘要: Systems and methods for reducing the pressure of a first pressurized fluid, thereby reducing the temperature of the pressurized fluid, and utilization of the reduced-pressure and temperature fluid to cool a second fluid. Such an approach can enable a reduction in the size and weight of a hydraulic system, utilize waste energy in a system, and/or minimize electrical power requirements of a system, among other benefits.

摘要: A rotor for a turbomachine includes a disc and a plurality of blades fixed to the disc. Each blade of the plurality of blades is fixed to the disc via a lattice structure configured so that a tensile force applied to the lattice structure induces a change in the angle of incidence of the blade. The blades and the lattice structures are configured so that: (i) when the rotor is stationary, the distribution of the angles of incidence of the blades around the disc is aperiodic, and (ii) when the rotor is rotating at a predetermined rotational speed, the angles of incidence of the blades are identical.

摘要: The helicoid in a tube is an energy conversion device. The helicoid in a tube converts energy in a manner selected from the group consisting of: a) converting the inertia of the mass of the flow of a fluid through the helicoid in a tube into rotational energy; b) converting a rotational energy into a change in the inertia of the mass of the flow of the fluid through the helicoid in a tube; and, c) converting the inertia of the mass of the flow of a fluid through the helicoid in a tube into fluid turbulence, cavitation, and heat in the form of friction. The helicoid in a tube incorporates a turbine stator and a turbine rotor. The turbine rotor installs in the turbine stator.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a fluid pump which has a pump casing, a top cap securable to an upper end of the pump casing and having an air intake port and a fluid discharge port. A fluid discharge tube extends to adjacent a lower end of the pump casing. A one-way check valve is disposed adjacent the lower end of the pump and forms a one-way path to admit fluid into the pump casing during a fill cycle of operation of the pump. A one-way check valve at the discharge port allows fluid to escape during a discharge cycle. An auger element is disposed inside the pump casing for causing a swirling, rotational fluid flow during a fluid eject cycle, in response to a jet of compressed air released into the pump casing, in which fluid having collected within the pump casing is forced by the jet of compressed air into and up through the discharge tube, and out from the pump casing.

摘要: Apparatus that mixes non-homogenous fluid. A threaded shaft within a housing circulates fluid within a container to effect mixing. In one embodiment, when placed in a container of fluid, the housing the fluid is recirculated through opposing ends of the housing. In an embodiment of a related method for mixing, a pump housing containing a screw journaled for rotation receives fluid within a container and conveys the fluid therethrough to circulate a fluid portion in the container along an exterior surface of the housing for mixing with another fluid portion to improve fluid homogeneity. After mixing, the portion of the fluid which first circulates through the housing may recirculate through the housing with said another portion of the fluid. The fluid may be continuously mixed and recirculated through the housing.

摘要: A disclosed submersible pump apparatus includes a three-dimensional frame, a pump housing, a drive shaft, an impeller, and first and second motors. The impeller is mounted on the driveshaft within the pump housing and is driven by one or both of the motors. The first motor is connected to a first end of the drive shaft and the second motor connected a second end of the drive shaft. The first and second motors are hydraulic motors and in a first configuration, the first and second motors are configured to cooperatively rotate the drive shaft with hydraulic fluid supplied to and removed from the first and second motors using a parallel fluidic connection. In a second configuration, only one of the motors has a drive gear and drives the drive shaft while the second motor does not have a drive gear and acts as a frictionless bearing supporting the drive shaft.
