摘要: A system for the recirculation of gas in air gaps of rotating machines via an ejector, a motor and a pump, including circulating a gas extracted from a gas-extraction unit which is located in the pump. This gas circulates in the gap between the rotors and the stator of the motor. The rotor of the motor is coupled to the shaft of the pump, and in one or more embodiments the gas from the gas-extraction unit flows from the pump to the ejector in order to be injected into the air gap between the rotor and the stator, thereafter returning to a process line. In one or more embodiments, the gas from the gas-extraction unit flows from the pump, and is injected directly into the air gap, and thereafter passes via the ejector in order to recirculate the gas to the process line.

摘要: In an ejector, formed in a body is a swirling space which lets a high-pressure refrigerant flowing from a refrigerant inlet port swirl and introduces the swirling high-pressure refrigerant into a depressurizing space in which the swirled high-pressure refrigerant is depressurized and expanded. A passage formation member that defines a nozzle passage and a diffuser passage is shaped to have a cross-sectional area increasing with distance from the depressurizing space. Further, a temperature sensing unit of a drive device that displaces the passage formation member is housed in the body, and the temperature sensing unit and a diaphragm have annular shapes to surround at least the axial line of the passage formation member.

摘要: In an ejector, a substantially conical passage formation member is disposed in the interior of a body forming a space therein to define a nozzle passage functioning as a nozzle, a mixing passage in which an ejection refrigerant ejected from the nozzle passage and a suction refrigerant drawn from a suction passage are mixed together, and a diffuser passage that converts a kinetic energy of the refrigerant that has flowed out of the mixing passage into a pressure energy, between an inner peripheral surface of the body and the passage formation member. The passage formation member is configured so that a spread angle of a portion forming an outlet side of the nozzle passage is smaller than a spread angle of a portion forming an inlet side of the nozzle passage in a cross-section parallel to an axial direction of the passage formation member.

摘要: An ejector includes a body including an inflow space into which a refrigerant flows, a passage formation member disposed inside the body and having a conical shape, and a nozzle passage having an annular cross section functioning as a nozzle and a diffuser passage having an annular cross section functioning as a pressurizing portion between an inner wall surface of the body and a conical lateral surface of the passage formation member. A drive mechanism that displaces the passage formation member along a center axis is coupled to an upstream actuating bar which extends from the passage formation member toward the inflow space and is slidably supported by the body. A largest outer diameter portion of an annular member forming a wall surface of the nozzle passage provides a throat portion functioning as an edge for enlarging a passage cross-sectional area to cause a separation vortex in the refrigerant.

摘要: An ejector includes a nozzle, a swirl flow generation portion, a body including a refrigerant suction port and a diffuser portion, a passage forming member, and an actuation device moving the passage forming member. A nozzle passage is defined between the nozzle and the passage forming member. A smallest passage cross-sectional area portion is provided in the nozzle passage. A swirl space that has a shape of a revolution and is coaxial with the nozzle, and a refrigerant inflow passage through which the refrigerant flows into the swirl space are defined in the swirl flow generation portion. The ejector further includes an area adjustment device that changes the passage cross-sectional area of the refrigerant inflow passage. According to this, an efficiency of energy conversion in the nozzle passage can be improved.

摘要: An ejector includes a body part having a depressurizing space in which a refrigerant flowing out of a swirling space is depressurized, a suction passage that draws a refrigerant from an external, and a pressurizing space in which the refrigerant from the depressurizing space is mixed with the refrigerant from the suction passage, a conical passage formation member that is arranged in the body part, and a driving device that displaces a nozzle body of the body part forming the depressurizing space. A nozzle passage is defined on an outer peripheral side of the passage formation member in the depressurizing space, a diffuser passage is formed on an outer peripheral side of the passage formation member in the pressurizing space, and an actuating bar that couples the driving device with the nozzle body is arranged without crossing the diffuser passage.

摘要: A method of compressing gas includes maintaining a volume of gas at a first pressure within a first chamber. Pressurized liquid is forced into the first chamber through a nozzle having a curved profile. Based on the Coanda effect, the liquid compresses the volume of gas to a second pressure greater than the first pressure. The liquid is separated from the gas in a second chamber while maintaining the gas at the second pressure to provide compressed, dry gas.

摘要: This present invention is a method and apparatus for drag reduction for a nautical vessel. The nautical vessel produces air bubbles and interposes the air bubbles between the exterior of the hull of a nautical vessel and the body of water that the vessel is moving through. Rather than utilizing an air compressor or other external energy source, the compressed air is generated from the movement of the vessel and is released where needed in order to reduce drag on the vessel.
