    摘要: A self-clinching fastener for attachment to a plastically deformable metal substrate includes a body portion with a central axis, the body portion has an annular-shaped surface extending in a direction perpendicular to the central axis The annular-shaped surface includes a first annular face, a second annular face, and a third annular face. The third annular face lies on an imaginary horizontal plane. A punch portion extends from the body portion. A plurality of spaced apart lugs encircle the punch portion. The first annular face extends from an outer peripheral surface of the punch portion in a radially outwards direction, and the second annular face is radially disposed between the first annular face and the third annular face. One of the lugs declines to the second annular face.

The improvements include a bushing sleeve seated in a counterbore in the rivet nut, for guiding the external threading of the mandrel or fastener to the internal threading of the rivet nut. The sleeve also enables play during upset of the rivet nut, and provides visual confirmation whether the rivet nut has been properly anchored in the hole of substrate.

The sleeve portion has a protruding rib structure on the outer circumference, the rib structure having at least one first support rib and at least one second support rib which extend in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve portion and are separated from one another by a recess. After the plastic deformation of the sleeve portion, the support ribs contact one another in order to allow a direct force flow between the head portion and the sleeve portion.

    摘要: A multi-material boss, configured for fastening of a fastener thereto, being a feature of a the cast part, comprising a boss cylinder, an augmenting cylinder, and a filler metal layer is provided. The boss cylinder is made of the same material as the die cast part having a first hardness, and has a first interior. The augmenting cylinder is made of an augmenting material having a second hardness, is fixedly secured in the first interior of the boss cylinder, and has a second interior defined by a second cylindrical shaped wall, a base rim, and a second opening. The second hardness is greater than the first hardness. The fastener is fastened to the multi-material boss via the second opening of the augmenting cylinder having the higher liquidus temperature and greater hardness.
