摘要: A method is disclosed for joining two components (1, 2), a first component (1) and a second component (2), in the region of a joint zone by means of at least one laser beam. In a first phase, the first component (1) is melted, and a melt lens is formed in the first component (1) from the molten material (9). In a second phase, at least one pressure pulse is applied to the melt in the direction of the second component (2) until the melt lens is deflected into the joint gap as a result of the pressure pulse, bridges the joint gap, and comes into contact with the second component (2), and energy is transmitted to the second component (2) as a result of the melt lens coming into contact with the second component. A temperature curve results in the second component (2) as a result of the energy transmission such that the melting temperature is reached on the upper face of the second component (2), and a melt film is formed. The heat penetration depth is set such that a damaging temperature which damages the second component (2) is not exceeded at a specified depth. A method for generating a continuous joint seam is also disclosed.

摘要: A method for producing a component structure from a first component and a second component may involve connecting the first component to the second component by way of a thermal joining process. The component structure has good crash properties, has good vibration resistance, has a lightweight construction, and is produced cost-effectively at least in part because the first component being a steel composite structure comprising a softer layer and a more-rigid layer. The softer layer may have a lower material strength and a higher deformability than the more-rigid layer. A part of a joint zone that is located in the first component may be formed at least partially in the relatively soft layer.

摘要: A new pre-alloyed metal based powder, intended to be used in surface coating of metal parts. The powder is deposited using e.g. laser cladding or plasma transfer arc welding (PTA), or thermal spray (e.g. HVOF). The powder is useful for reducing friction and improving wear reducing properties of the deposited coating. Such coatings may also improve machinability. As friction or wear reducing component, inclusions of manganese sulphide or tungsten sulphide in the pre-alloyed powder may be used.

摘要: Forming respective packets (20, 21, 46, 50, 52, 70, 82, 84) of filler metal powder (24) and flux powder (26) for adjacent placement on a working surface (30) for laser deposition of the metal. Each packet may be formed of a sacrificial sleeve (22) or adjacently seamed sheets (72A-D), which may include flux fibers such as alumina, zirconia, basalt, or silica. A packet (56) of flux may be disposed centrally inside a packet (56) of metal or vice versa. A connected stack (70, 82, 84) of three packets (74A-C, 86A-C) may be formed by seaming (76A-B) four stacked sheets (72A-D) around common edges and filling the three resulting spaces between the sheets with a respective vertical sequence of metal/flux/metal or flux/metal/flux powders. Quilting and intermediate stitching may provide for precise control of material distribution and facilitate feeding of material.

摘要: A precipitation strengthened nickel based welding material that comprises 5-15 wt. % Co, 5-25 wt. % Cr, 1-6 wt. % Al, 0.05-0.2 wt. % C, 0.015-0.4 wt. % B, 1-3 wt. % Si, chemical elements selected from among tungsten and molybdenum from about 1 to 20 wt. %, chemical elements selected from among titanium, zirconium, hafnium, tantalum and rhenium from about 1 to 18 wt. % and nickel with impurities to balance, wherein the boron content is inversely proportional to silicon content and decreases from about 0.3 wt. % to about 0.015 wt. % when silicon content increases from about 1 wt. % to about 3 wt. % produces sound high strength and high oxidation resistance crack free welds on precipitation strengthened superalloys and single crystal materials.

摘要: The present disclosure relates generally to welding alloys and, more specifically, to welding consumables (e.g., welding wires and rods) for welding, such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). In an embodiment, a welding alloy includes less than approximately 1 wt % manganese as well as one or more strengthening agents selected from the group: nickel, cobalt, copper, carbon, molybdenum, chromium, vanadium, silicon, and boron. Additionally, the welding alloy has a carbon equivalence (CE) value that is less than approximately 0.23, according to the Ito and Bessyo carbon equivalence equation. The welding alloy also includes one or more grain control agents selected from the group: niobium, tantalum, titanium, zirconium, and boron, wherein the welding alloy includes less than approximately 0.6 wt % grain control agents.

The first plate of the first panel member includes a flange positioned in abutment with a flange located on the first plate of the second panel member. The flange of the first panel member includes a projection and the flange of the second panel member includes a groove. The panel members are connected so that the projection is engaged with the groove to thereby resist relative lateral movement that would separate the panel members.
