The gear unit also includes a hub integrally formed with the gear and arranged coaxially to the gear. The hub extends outwardly of the gear in a direction of a central axis of the gear. The gear unit also includes an undercut defined at an interface of the gear and the hub and includes a curved portion arranged at proximate to an inner end of the gear. The undercut reduces a stress concentration at the interface of the gear and the hub.

摘要: Carbon fiber reinforced metal matrix composite gears include a planar carbon fiber structure fully encapsulated within a metal matrix formed of sintered metal nanoparticles. The metal nanoparticles can be composed of a metal having a high sintering temperature that would ordinarily destroy the carbon fiber. Novel techniques for making small uniform nanoparticles for sintering lowers the sintering temperature to a level that can accommodate carbon fiber. The composite gears possess high strength to weight ratio.

摘要: The invention relates to a multi-turn angle measurement device for measuring multiple revolutions of a shaft (4), consisting of a first code carrier (31) with an optical single-turn scanning function (34) for detecting the absolute position of the shaft and a second code carrier for measuring the number of revolutions of the shaft (4). A reduction gear (2) is arranged between the first code carrier (31) and the second code carrier, and the second code carrier consists of a number of permanent magnets (22), the position of which is detected by an assembly of Hall sensors (16a-16b) fixed to the housing. Each of the permanent magnets (22) is embedded into the plastic material of the transmission gears (20) of the reduction gear (2).

In addition, the metallic gear teeth can be non-orthogonal to the axis. A polymer layer can be located on the metallic gear teeth to form polymer gear teeth on the metallic gear teeth. The polymer gear teeth can form the final gear teeth size of the gear.
