    摘要: A method for sensing a leak in a unit under test includes scanning a SKU on a unit under test, sending the SKU information to a compute, connecting the unit under test to a testing apparatus, removing gas from an interior volume of the unit under test, monitoring the vacuum pressure within the interior volume of the unit under test until the vacuum pressure reaches a test pressure, initiating delivery of helium to the exterior of the unit under test through a helium gun by pulling a trigger on the helium gun to dispense helium therefrom, positioning the helium supply gun so that helium is released over a weld of the unit under test, detecting the movement speed of the helium supply gun during the dispensing of helium therefrom, and displaying the helium content internal to the unit under test on a graphical user interface.

    摘要: A pneumatic leak detector operates by submerging a nozzle in oil. Airflow from the nozzle results in simultaneous cavitation and atomization of the oil. Microscopic oil droplets form a fog, which is used to detect leaks in closed duct systems. The integrated valve and nozzle includes a stem on one end for air input, the nozzle on the other end for air output, and a check valve between the stem and the nozzle to prevent the backflow of air or oil. The exterior body of the integrated valve and nozzle is a convex body wedge. A smaller concave wedge is cut at the orifice of the nozzle. The critical parameters of the nozzle are its orifice diameter, body wedge angle, orifice cut angle, and orifice cut depth, all of which have been optimized by experimentation to yield maximal fog density.

    摘要: Detecting a leak from a site in a sealed system with a source of pressurized gas which is capable of passing through the site, a composition of matter which adheres to the surfaces of the system and which is capable of showing the presence of the gas escaping from the site. The method includes: injecting gas into the system to a pressure in excess of the surrounding pressure, and covering the external surface with the composition to identify the location of the site by the interaction of the escaping gas with the composition. The composition is foam that includes a surfactant which forms a least one bubble in the presence of escaping gas and an indicator which changes color in the presence of the escaping gas. The leak is an opening down to at least the size of a hole 0.001″ in diameter. A gas detector may also be used.

    摘要: Leakage detection for pressurized fuel tanks. To provide facilitated leakage detection, a leakage detection device for pressurized fuel tanks for storing a pressurized fuel includes a fuel-sensing tracer and a light-wave conducting component. The fuel sensing tracer is configured to alter its optical properties in the presence of a predetermined fuel. The light-wave conducting component is in optical contact with the fuel sensing tracer. Light travelling within the light-wave conducting component is modifiable by altered optical properties of the fuel sensing tracer such that modified light is indicative of the presence of fuel at the location of the fuel sensing tracer.
