摘要: Utilizing vision systems at a wellsite, which may include operating a video camera to generate a video signal containing images of one or more pieces of equipment or components and receiving the video signal by a processing system, which may then process the images to determine physical and/or operational characteristics associated with the one or more pieces of equipment in the images. The video signal may contain images of a first downhole tubular configured for threadedly coupling with a second downhole tubular and conveyance within a wellbore by an oil and/or gas drilling rig, wherein an outer surface of the first downhole tubular may include a geometric pattern for determining azimuthal orientation of the first downhole tubular. The processing system may then determine the azimuthal orientation of the first downhole tubular based on the images of the geometric pattern.

摘要: A method for steering a downhole tool in a wellbore includes measuring a tool face when the drill bit is off-bottom, measuring an angular position of a drill string when the drill bit is off-bottom, and measuring a torque on the drill string when the drill bit is off-bottom. Measuring the tool face when the drill bit is on-bottom and measuring the torque on the drill string when the drill bit is on-bottom. Determining a transfer function comprising the angular position of the quill, the difference between the tool face when the drill bit is on-bottom and off-bottom, and the difference between the torque when the drill bit is on-bottom and off-bottom. The angular position of the drill string is varied at the surface, based upon the transfer function, to reduce an angle between the tool face when the drill bit is on-bottom and a target tool face.

摘要: A slips assembly for a drilling rig and methods. The slips assembly includes a body, a plurality of slips disposed within the body and configured to extend radially inward to engage a tubular, and to retract radially outward to form a gap between the tubular and the plurality of slips, and sensors configured to detect a force on the plurality of slips generated by the plurality of slips engaging the tubular.

摘要: A tubular measuring system having a sensor at a predetermined position with respect to a datum and a processing device comprising a processor and a memory storing computer program code in signal communication with the sensor. The sensor generates a signal indicative of a feature of a tubular, and the processing device receives and processes the signal to determine position of the feature of the tubular with respect to the datum.

摘要: A drilling rig site may include at least one tubular configured to be inserted into a wellbore at the drilling rig, at least one imaging device configured to detect a location of an end of the at least one tubular or a feature of the at least one tubular, and a processor receiving an input from the at least one imaging device and configured to calculate a distance between the end of the at least one tubular and another element, a diameter of the at least one tubular, or movement of the at least one tubular. A method for completing a drilling operation at a rig site, may include capturing an image of a tubular at a rig site, the tubular configured to be inserted into a wellbore at the rig site, detecting a location of an end of the tubular or a feature of the tubular from the image, and determining a diameter of the tubular, a distance between the detected end of the tubular and another element, or movement of the tubular.
