The present invention relates to a metal-organic hybrid lattice material and the application in the detection of radiation sources. In the invention, a water-soluble thorium salt and 2,2′:6′,2′-terpyridine-4′-carboxylic acid are subjected to a solvothermal reaction in water and an organic mixed solvent to obtain a metal-organic hybrid lattice material. The crystalline material produces radiation-induced discoloration and photoluminescence change under ultraviolet light, X-ray, γ-ray, β-ray, and so on. The material is useful for qualitative and quantitative detection and calibration after high-dose irradiation. Compared with the traditional radiation-induced color change indicator labels, the material achieves the visual qualitative and quantitative detection and has strong radiation stability, high reuse rate, wide detection range, and good linear relationship, to solve the problem of traditional materials relying on professional optical equipment to quantify the radiation dose.

A method of beamforming datasets from a tomographic detection system. The system comprises scintillation detectors that are arranged in D detector pairs, D≥1, wherein the detectors are adapted to count radiation hits. According to the method in one aspect, a tomographic dataset is received for each detector pair coordinates (θd, pd) of a detector pair d of the D detector pairs, so as to obtain a plurality of tomographic datasets. Each of said datasets is associated with respective detector pair coordinates (θd, pd). Then, for each point y of interest, the received datasets are coherently combined by weighting the datasets according to respective beamforming weights d(y)=ω(θd, pd; y), based on said respective detector pair coordinates (θd, pd) and coordinates of said each pointy of interest. This way, a signal focusing on said each pointy is obtained. Related tomographic detection systems and computer program products may be also presented.

Provided is a dosimeter capable of reading out a dose multiple times and excellent in biological tissue equivalence, and a radiation measuring method using this dosimeter. The dosimeter includes a detecting element containing magnesium oxide and a dose measuring system thereof is a radio-photoluminescence system. The detecting element preferably comprises a single-crystal body or a sintered body of magnesium oxide, and more preferably further contains a rare-earth element such as samarium. Moreover, the radiation measuring method uses the above-described dosimeter and the dose measuring system thereof is a radio-photoluminescence system.

Various embodiments are described herein for a radiation dosimetry apparatus and associated methods for measuring radiation dose. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes multiple scintillating elements for detecting amounts of radiation dose at multiple points within a detection region. Each of the scintillating elements generates light in response to radiation interacting within their volume. A light guide combines the light generated by all of the scintillating elements as well as radiation-induced contaminated optical energy and transmits the combined light to a spectral analysis setup. Multi or hyper-spectral calibration technique allows calculating the dose or dose rate at the positions of the different scintillating elements. The calibration technique isolates the light produced by a given scintillating element from the other scintillating elements as well as any other source of radiation-induced contaminating light.
