摘要： A method of designing and/or selecting a progressive addition lens design for a wearer is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes displaying a graphical representation of an initial progressive addition lens design including design parameters having design values. A user interface is provided including, for each of one or more of the design parameters, a control that is adjustable over a range of levels, each level in the range being associated with a corresponding value of the respective design parameter. A control is adjusted to select a level and the selection is processed so as to substantially simultaneously update the displayed graphical representation in accordance with the selected level to provide a modified progressive lens design. A system for designing and/or selecting a progressive addition lens design for a wearer is also disclosed.

摘要： The gestational wheel calculator of the current invention greatly extends the function and usefulness of the basic gestational calculation wheel by providing increased accuracy of gestational dates by using an average cycle length adjuster, provides paternity information using a sperm exposure marker, provides more accurate ultrasound and other test measurements by using scales printed parallel to gestational age, and provide a means of accurately aligning these measurements with the proper calendar or gestational date by including a transparent marker arm. In addition, normal range and error functions are included on the marker arm. A one-fourth year window is used to increase the surface area of information available for viewing charts, tables, and promotions on the underlying base plate. Easier reading of the calculator is provided by special markers for the first day of each calendar month and by providing sub-marks for each day within a gestational week. Scheduling conflicts are improved by providing a weekday scale covering the entire nine month duration of pregnancy. The other side of the gestational wheel can be used to provide additional promotional or informational items including rotating transparent windows to display additional surface area, to provide means of calculating algorithm solutions for body mass index, and display observational data for EFW, delta OD 450, and AFI.

The system provides for verification that the presenter of an authentication document. The unique ID and/or other information may be provided in a form that is not visible under normal viewing conditions. By canning the image the unique ID may be obtained and used for authentication. The obtained ID may be compared with a known information stored at a database for confirming that the presenter of the authentication document is the individual to whom it was issued.

摘要： The inventive computer includes a RAM which sequentially stores a series of calculation expression data thereto, a proof unit which proves the series of calculation expression data by inputting those data again, and a display which displays calculation data found to be non-coincident in the proof operation. First, when a series of calculation expression data is input to the computer, the computer performs a required calculation on the series of calculation expression data and sequentially stores the data in the RAM. After the series of calculations on the data is completed, the user inputs data on designation of a proof operation to confirm whether the result of the calculation is correct. Thus, the proof mode is selected and a second series of calculation expression data is input. At this time, terms of the calculation expression data stored in the RAM are sequentially compared with corresponding terms of the second series of calculation expression data to determine whether those data coincide with each other. If non-coincidence is determined, the terms of the calculation data determined to be non-coincident are read from the RAM and the second input calculation expression data and displayed alternately in accordance with the user's instruction.

摘要： A tool for providing a multidimensional indication of the pain being experienced by a person includes multiple sets of selection indicators and sliding scales, each being indicative of variations of a respective dimension of pain selected from the group consisting of nature, intensity, location, duration, continuity and pain relief. The selection indicators are mounted on the tool in association with pain descriptors, i.e. words, with the selection indicators being adjustable between first and second states indicating whether the associated descriptor describes their pain. Likewise, the slidable scale indicators are adjustable along each of the pain scales to indicate the relative degree of the respective dimension of pain that most closely represents the pain they are experiencing. Finally, the tool displays illustrations of a human body in association with a grid for identifying the location of pain being experienced by the user. The method of the invention includes the steps of providing such a tool, causing a person to adjust the selection indicators and scale indicators to the appropriate positions for accurately describing their pain and observing those indications of pain recorded on the tool.

摘要： A blackjack play option response indicator which presents the 350 card combinations and the appropriate play option response for each card combination, composed of two disk rotatably connected to each other. The back disk has thereon a plurality of radially arranged rows of play option response indicia, wherein "B" designates "blackjack"; "H" designates "hit"; "S" designates "stand"; "D" designates "double down"; and "SP" designates "split". There are 350 play option response indicia which correspond to the recommended play option responses uniquely corresponding to each and every one of the 350 card combinations possible in blackjack. Adjacent the perimeter of the back disk, dealer's up card value indicia are provided thereon. The front disk is provided with 4 radially arranged rows of apertures for being selectively aligned with the aforementioned play option response indicia. Adjacent each aperture is a player's cards value indicia corresponding to all possible hands, which is either the total value of the player's hand, or each card in the event the cards include an ace or are a pair. The front disk further includes alignment indicia for selectively aligning a row of apertures with the dealer's up card value indicia. In operation, the player finds the player's cards value indicia which corresponds best to his or her hand on the front disk. The player notes the value of the dealer's up card, and then rotates the front disk relative to the back disk so that the alignment indicia aligns with the dealers'up card value indicia on the back disk. Now, the appropriate play option response indicia will have appeared at the aperture corresponding to the player's cards value indicia of the player's hand. The player then makes the play option so indicated.

摘要： Disclosed is a manually operable calculator for determining a fourth value on the basis of three variables. According to one example, the calculator is used to determine the total storage available for a recording medium consisting of several units, such as hard disks or magneto optical disks. Specifically, values for total storage are displayed in response to inputting the capacity of each disk, the number of disks and the data recording rate. According to the invention, the calculator comprises a slide member upon which two rotating wheels are mounted along a common axis of rotation. The slide and wheels each have indicia corresponding to the three variables printed thereon. The indicia on the wheels is selected by rotation while the indicia on the slide is selected by moving the slide within a sleeve having openings formed therein.
