The heating element (208) includes first and second terminal ends (210, 212), wherein the coiled portion (214) is defined therebetween, the coiled portion (214) having a plurality of turns (216) defining a through passage (218). The heat lamp (200) further includes an inner elongate member (222) disposed within the through passage (218) of the coiled portion (214), the inner elongate member (222) having a plurality of support members (224) extending therefrom. Each of the plurality of support members (224) engages at least one of the plurality of turns (216) of the coiled portion (214), whereby the coiled portion (214) is supported by the plurality of support members (224) when the heating element (208) is in a vertical orientation.

    摘要: An infrared radiator has a twin tube with an inner bridge that separates two housings which run along the longitudinal direction of the tube. A first heating spiral arranged in a first one of the housings is provided with an external electrical current supply and has a first end connected to a connection wire or a second heating spiral arranged in the second housing. A bore is formed in the inner bridge adjacent a second end of the first heating spiral and through which a connection body can extend from one housing into the other housing. The first heating spiral is thereby electrically connected to the connection wire or the second heating spiral. At least the first heating spiral is mounted under pull tension in the housing. Furthermore, for simplifying the mounting of the heating spiral of the infrared radiator, the bore is formed by boring through the jacket of the twin tube and the inner bridge. The connection body is then inserted into the through bore and the inner bridge, and is electrically connected to the first heating spiral and to the connection wire or to the second heating spiral. The bore is then closed off.

    摘要: To positively locate a filament (5, 22) in position within a bulb (2) of a halogen incandescent lamp, the walls of the bulb are deformed at selected points along the length of the filament within the bulb to define at least three inwardly projecting dimples which just barely engage, or engage, the filament. Preferably, the filament is formed with a connecting portion (7) in the region of engagement, which connecting portion is either straight, coiled with a very steep pitch, or, if the filament is double-coiled, only single-coiled. The connecting portion (7) may be electrically short-circuited by a core pin (39). If the bulb is single-ended (FIG. 3), a return lead (29) along the wall of the bulb, can be pinched between adjacent walls (45) of adjacent dimples. The dimples, looked at from the outside of the lamp, are essentially funnel-shaped and, in cross section, may be circular, or if space between adjacent dimples is insufficient, may be elliptical.

A pair of closed metal end caps are conductively adhered to the opposed ends of a bulb envelope having a pair of exposed filament leads protruding from either end.     摘要: A high pressure, tungsten halogen lamp wherein a predetermined quantity of a gas mixture including an inert gas (e.g., argon) and halogen compound (e.g., methyliodide) constitute the lamp's combined atmosphere. The gas mixture is flowed into the tubular member which ultimately comprises the lamp's envelope and is then cooled sufficiently to form either a pool of liquified gas or, alternatively, a frozen, solidified member. A quantity of nitrogen gas established at a predetermined atmospheric pressure is also flowed into the tubular member while a press sealing operation is accomplished to seal the member. When the lamp is then subjected to normal room temperature, the pool (or solidified member) becomes gasified to produce the elevated internal pressure, which may readily approach three atmospheres.

    摘要: A long, tubular incandescent lamp has incorporated therein a filament formed by coupling light emitting segments and non-light-emitting segments alternately with each other. Each of the light emitting segments is composed of a light emitting coil and a coil-like coupling member of a larger pitch than the light emitting coil. Each of the non-light-emitting segments is composed of a bar formed to have a straight short-circuit part, bent portions at both ends thereof and supports respectively extending from the bent portions. The short-circuit part is inserted into the coil-like coupling member and these elements are then welded to each other to obtain the filament of alternately coupled light emitting and non-light-emitting segments. The composite filament is subsequently sealed in a long, tubular bulb. Thus, the resulting incandescent lamp is easily assembled, simple in structure, and highly shock resistant.
