摘要: A packet processing method, including a network node of an access network receiving a first packet sent by a user terminal, where the first packet is used to request an Internet Protocol (IP) address from a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server and the network node obtains a second packet, where the second packet includes the first packet, information about a port, and a Media Access Control (MAC) address of the user terminal, the port is a port through which the network node receives the first packet, and the second packet is a packet except a DHCP packet. Additionally, the network node sends the second packet to a controller.

摘要: In one embodiment, load balancing criteria and an indication of a plurality of network nodes is received. A plurality of forwarding entries are created based on the load balancing criteria and the indication of the plurality of nodes. A content addressable memory of a network element is programmed with the plurality of forwarding entries. The network element selectively load balances network traffic by applying the plurality of forwarding entries to the network traffic, wherein network traffic meeting the load balancing criteria is load balanced among the plurality of network nodes.

摘要: A communication apparatus includes a processor and a memory. The processor executes computer-readable instructions stored in the memory. The instructions instruct the communication apparatus to establish a first network including the communication apparatus and a first device. The instructions instruct the communication apparatus to establish a second network including the communication apparatus and a second device. The instructions instruct the communication apparatus to determine a target IP address. Determining the target IP address includes identifying a particular IP address, which is an IP address of the communication apparatus used in the second type network. Determining the target IP address includes generating the target IP address to be within a particular range using the particular IP address. The particular range is a range of IP addresses that are not available in the second type network. The instructions instruct the communication apparatus to assign the target IP address to the first device.

摘要: A multiple-identity secure device (MISD) persistently may store an identification code. The identification code may be stored in an integral memory of the device, or on an interchangeable card received in a physical interface of the MISD. The MISD may generate one or more unique identities (e.g., network addresses) from the stored identification code. The generated identities may be dynamically generated or may be securely stored in the MISD for subsequent retrieval. The generated identities may generates in accordance with an addressing scheme, a global/network setting, or as determined from a received data transmission.

摘要: An apparatus for a local area network includes a management communications bus, and at one of a plurality of logic nodes, logic circuitry. The management communications bus is for communication among the plurality of logic nodes, wherein respective node addresses for the plurality of logic nodes are conveyed using the management communications bus. The logic circuitry communicates information in a data/address field of the communications protocol with another of the plurality of logic nodes with reference to a subset of the predetermined set of patterned data bits in the data/address field to synchronize the transactions.
