A method of producing a screen (10), on which a nonwoven material may be formed by hydroentanglement, involves providing a layer of radiation curable polymeric resin material (12) in fluid form and irradiating this layer through a mask (22), selectively transparent to the radiation, so as to effect at least partial curing of the layer (12) in positions corresponding with radiationtransparent regions of the mask (22). The uncured polymeric material is then removed and any necessary subsequent full cure of the residual material takes place. The radiation-transparent regions of the mask (22) have various sizes and shapes and are distributed randomly such that apertures (15) provided in the cured polymeric material of the screen are not provided in a regular pattern or form.

A novel composition useful for golf ball covers that comprises a blend of a diisocyanate/polyol polyurethane prepolymer with a curing agent comprising a blend of slow-reacting diamine with a fast-reacting diamine such as dimethylthio 2,4-toluenediamine and diethyl 2,4-toluenediamine, respectively, coupled with a novel manufacturing process and ball construction. A golf ball made with this invention exhibits the characteristic feel and playability of a balata cover with superior durability characteristics (cut and shear resistance) which exceed those of a balata or ionomer cover.

Method for strip-coating a metallic strip-shaped substrate (1) with a band (3) of plastic comprising the stages: (i) in-situ casting of a plastic band; (ii) leading the plastic band around a cooling roll (5, 5a); (iii) leading away the plastic band until the plastic band production is underway and stabilized; (iv) bringing the plastic band up to speed and heating the substrate to a temperature of the substrate close to the softening temperature of the part of the plastic band facing the substrate; (v) pressing the plastic band onto the substrate and where applicable breaking off the plastic band and stopping it being led away; (vi) coating the substrate (1) with the plastic band (3) at high speed.
