Abstract:
A spring assembly for a communications jack including a plurality of jack contacts each electrically connectable to a corresponding plug contact of a communications plug. First and second jack contacts carry a first differential signal. Fifth and sixth jack contacts carry a second differential signal. The jack contacts carrying the first differential signal are adjacent a third jack contract and the jack contacts carrying the second differential signal are adjacent a fourth jack contract. For each jack contact, the assembly has a conductive spring member electrically connected to the jack contact that biases the jack contact against a corresponding plug contact. To reduce crosstalk, the spring members connected to the first and second jack contacts are each capacitively coupled to the fourth jack contact, and the spring members connected to the fifth and sixth jack contacts are each capacitively coupled to the third jack contact.

Apparatus and methods for radio frequency switching are disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a complimentary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) switch having a gate, a drain, a source, and a well. The source and drain are formed in the well, and the gate is formed adjacent the well between the source and drain. The source is configured to receive a radio frequency signal from a first power amplifier. The apparatus further includes a switch enable detect block configured to compare a signal indicative of the gate voltage of the first switch to a first reference signal and to generate an output comparison signal based at least partly on the comparison. The apparatus further includes a power amplifier bias control block configured to enable the first power amplifier based at least partly on the output comparison signal from the switch sense block.

Abstract:
Provided is a process for producing lower carbon olefins from methanol or/and dimethyl ether, wherein methanol or/and dimethyl ether is/are by proportion fed into three reaction zones respectively. Desired olefin product distribution is obtained by adjusting the proportion of feeds entering into said three reaction zones and the process conditions in each reaction zone.
Abstract:
According to one exemplary embodiment, an auto-tuning circuit (1 04) coupled to a voltage controlled oscillator (102) in a phase locked loop, where the voltage controlled oscillator is coupled to a capacitor array (105), includes a prescaler circuit (106) configured to provide a divided voltage controlled oscillator frequency, where the prescaler circuit is used in the phase locked loop during fine tunin of the voltage controlled oscillator in the auto-tuning circuit during coarse tuning of the voltage controlled oscillator. The auto-tuning circuit further includes a digital processing logic circuit (108) coupled to the prescaler circuit and configured to determine a capacitance of the capacitor array by comparing comp-cnt to a pre-determined value, where comp-cnt is determined by a number of cycles of the divided voltage controlled oscillator frequency that occur in a calibration interval.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product are provided in which at least one of a peer-to-peer transmit power or a peer-to-peer duty cycle is adjusted based on at least one of a path loss to a serving base station or a path loss to at least one neighboring base station. In addition, a peer-to-peer signal is sent with the peer-to-peer transmit power or the peer-to-peer duty cycle.
Abstract:
Apparatuses, devices, systems, and methods are provided for prevention of tampering with cables and associated systems. In one aspect, an anti-tamper adapter is provided that can inhibit or prohibit cable tampering for existing cables. In a further aspect, dummy plugs or blocking plugs can employ disclosed anti-tamper adapters to facilitate blocking ports or outlets that are intended to remain undisturbed for a period of time. The provided embodiments can economically and flexibly facilitate cable tamper prevention in a wide array of cable technologies.
Abstract:
Multifunctional "smart" nanostructures are disclosed that include fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-encapsulated SiO2 core-shell particles with a nanoscale ZnO finishing layer, wherein an outer ZnO layer is formed on the SiO2-FlTC core. These -200 nm sized particles showed promise toward cell imaging and cellular uptake studies using the bacterium Escherichia coli and Jurkat cancer cells, respectively. The FITC encapsulated ZnO particles demonstrated excellent selectivity in preferentially killing Jurkat cancer cells with minimal toxicity to normal primary immune cells (18% and 75% viability remaining, respectively, after exposure to 60 µg/mL) and inhibited the growth of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria at concentrations > 250-500 µg/mL (for Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, respectively). These results indicate that the FITC encapsulated multifunctional particles with nanoscale ZnO surface layer can be used as smart nanostructures for particle tracking, cell imaging, antibacterial treatments and cancer therapy.
Abstract:
Tools and methods for detecting the presence bacteria, yeast and mold in a sample obtained from a food sample are provided. The methods employ a polymerase chain reaction and primer and probe sets that are based on the 16S rRNA and squalene-hopene cyclase genes of Alicyclobacillus and Geobacillus and the 18S rDNA gene of mold and yeast. The present invention also relates to primer and probe sets. Each primer and probe set comprises a forward primer and a reverse primer, both of which are from 15 to 35 nucleotides in length and a probe.
