Abstract:
The invention provides a controlled-release pharmaceutical formulation for oral administration consisting essentially of: an active drug compound; low molecular weight polyethylene oxide; hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose; tabletting excipients; and optionally one or more enteric polymers. Formulations according to the invention produce a constant rate of release of drug in in vitro models of the gastrointestinal tract.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are methods of preparing alkenes from beta-hydroxy or beta-sulfate carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid derivatives using thioesterase and optionally a sulfotransferase.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a water- and oil-repellent soil-resistant composition comprising (A) a fluorine-containing polymer having repeating units derived from a monomer comprising a fluorine-containing monomer and (B) a silane compound. The water- and oil-repellent soil-resistant composition comprising the fluorine-containing acrylate polymer can impart the excellent water- and oil-repellency and soil resistance to the porous substrate and is free from an organic solvent.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a surface treatment agent comprising a fluorine-containing polymer having repeating units derived from a monomer comprising a fluorine-containing monomer, wherein the fluorine-containing polymer has a silicone moiety possessed by a mercapto group-containing silicone. When a porous substrate is treated under drying at normal temperature, the surface treatment agent comprising the fluorine-containing acrylate polymer can impart the excellent water- and oil-repellency and soil resistance to the porous substrate.
Abstract:
A method and system for processing a financial transaction using a payment card through a third-party interchange network is provided. The financial transaction is initiated by a cardholder at a merchant location. The method includes storing a list of private label participating merchants, receiving an authorization request for the transaction involving the payment card wherein the authorization request includes a merchant location identifier for the merchant location where the transaction occurred, performing a merchant screening process on the transaction including validating the transaction as originating at a private label participating merchant location, manipulating at the interchange network the authorization request to include a private label identifier when the transaction is determined to have originated at one of the participating merchants, and transmitting the manipulated authorization request with the private label identifier to an issuer of the payment card for processing as a private label transaction.
Abstract:
This invention relates to silicone elastomer compositions in the form of gels and/or organized structures. The silicone elastomer compositions are produced by reacting a siloxane having a first reactive group with a crosslinker having a second reactive group in a diluent. One reactive group is selected from epoxy-functional groups or chlorohydrin functional groups while the other reactive group is a functional group that reacts with epoxy-functional groups or chlorohydrin functional groups (i.e. amine, hydroxyl). The silicone elastomer compositions of the instant invention are particularly useful in personal care products, textiles, auto care products, and laundry products and for the delivery of active ingredients.
