A process and device are disclosed for producing fruit gum-drops having an elongated shape. In a first process step, a mouldable gum-drop mass is prepared and in a second step the thus prepared gum-drop mass is introduced in a casting installation into a container with at least one casting opening. In a third process step, the gum-drop mass is cast into a conveyor element provided with at least one moulding groove which is continuously moved in the longitudinal direction of the moulding groove below the casting opening. In a fourth process step, the gum-drop mass remains in the moulding groove until it has reached a sufficient dimensional stability to be removed from the moulding groove. In a fifth process step, the gum-drop mass is removed from the mould and cut into sections, for example serpentine-shaped sections, of the desired length.

The reinforcing plate (120) is positioned on a forming die (160) and is formed thereon. The formed reinforcing plate (140) is positioned in a mold (182), and plastic is molded about the formed reinforcing plate (140) to form a reinforced bottom cup section (226). Plastic closures (218a, 218b) are formed in a closure mold (192), and are hingedly mounted on the reinforced buttom cup section (226) to make a full dough forming cup (252).
