Abstract:
A method of influencing access to website, social media or mobile application content is described. The method comprises identifying the occurrence of an item of live or previously broadcast media content, identifying consumer Internet activity at the time of the occurrence of the item of media content, and identifying, from said detected consumer internet activity, a strategy to influence an Internet search function, social media site or mobile application to display selected information. Then, a subsequent broadcast of the item of media content is identified, and the identified strategy is triggered at the point the item occurs during the time of the identified subsequent broadcast.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for determining that a user is playing a playlist on a wireless device, offering an insertion opportunity to a third party, receiving a request from the third party to insert a media content into the playlist, wherein the media content is not part of the playlist, and injecting the media content into the playlist without the user's intervention. Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for receiving information about a user playing a playlist on a wireless device, determining, based on the information, a media content for the user, wherein the media content is not part of the playlist, and requesting a playlist service provider to inject the media content into the playlist, without the user's intervention.
Abstract:
A computerized system and an associated computer-implemented method for the analysis of user activity and preparation of the data for a music recommender in a social network. The history of actions is analyzed in multiple dimensions in order to mine collaborative correlations, temporal correlations and overall ranking. The results of the analysis are exported in a form of a taste graph, which is then used to generate on-line music recommendations. The taste graph captures relations between different entities pertaining to music (users, tracks, artists, etc.) and it consists of the following main parts: user preferences, track similarities, artist similarities, artists' works and demography profiles. Each part of the taste graph is created using a separate algorithm. The recommendations are generated based on the composed stochastic graph structure using a random walk algorithm.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for generating playlists within a music service executing on an electronic device. According to certain aspects, the systems and methods identify various parameters based on a setting or condition of the electronic device. The systems and methods determine one or more songs based on the various parameters and add the one or more songs to a playlist that is displayed on an interface of the electronic device. According to embodiments, the systems and methods enable the user to initiate playback of the playlist via the interface.
Abstract:
A method and a system are provided for recommending a media item (e.g., movie and/or television program). In one example, the system receives a seed media item (e.g., seed movie and/or seed television program). A seed media item is an audio-visual recording that is identified as being of interest to a user. The system recognizes one or more recognized audio tracks (e.g., audio tracks and/or songs) from the seed media item. A recognized audio track is an audio recording that is contained in the seed media item. The system retrieves audio track metadata associated with at least one of the recognized audio tracks from the seed media item. Audio track metadata are data that describes an audio recording. The system recommends one or more recommended media items based on the audio track metadata. A recommended media item is an audio-visual recording (e.g., movie and/or television program).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for generating a personalized radio channel playlist by time division multiplexing songs from multiple received channels from one or more broadcast source streams in a queue. Users can specify favorite channels for building their personal playlists, or multiple default playlist channels can be provided by genre. If matches are found, the channel carrying the favorite is extracted and added to the playlist. Channel searching for matches involves monitoring real-time song and artist labels for all channels carried in a separate data channel. Preview times can vary depending on the size of the playlist or number of channels used. During a preview of a segment, users can, opt to listen to the full song or back up in the playlist to listen to a previous song. Connectivity options and web interfaces are provided to facilitate transfer and sharing of customization parameters for personalized radio configuration.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing an audiovisual user interface based on learned user preferences is described. In one implementation, the method involves collecting a set of user preferences for a user; providing a metadata stream associated with an audiovisual input; comparing elements within the metadata stream with the set of user preferences to form a comparison; and outputting a message to the user if the comparison indicates that the metadata stream matches one or more elements of the set of user preferences. The message may be output either acoustically or visually, and may relate to the audiovisual input, which may be audio, video, or both audio and video. The audiovisual input may be blocked based on a restricted message, and may be accessed upon a successful password query.
Abstract:
Discovering content on a device. Content stored on a device can be examined or searched based on the programming of channels that are available to the device. The content can be searched using other rules related to user preferences. Based on the results of the examination of the content, playlists are generated. Each playlist includes content from the device that matches or partially matches the content associated with one of the channels. Using the playlists, a user can load content from their device that has a theme consistent with a particular channel. The playlists can also be used to tune to the channels associated with the playlists and thereby discover the content on those channels.
