Abstract:
A primary data storage system and a secondary data storage system are connected with a mesh of network connections during replication procedures from the primary storage system to the secondary storage system. In some implementations, at the primary storage system, file system metadata is analyzed for different subsets of the primary file system to determine changed and/or potentially changed files and/or directories for each subset. Change information is communicated from the primary storage system for a plurality of the subsets to a secondary storage system in parallel to a plurality of network addresses assigned to network ports of the secondary storage system.
Abstract:
A method of influencing access to website, social media or mobile application content is described. The method comprises identifying the occurrence of an item of live or previously broadcast media content, identifying consumer Internet activity at the time of the occurrence of the item of media content, and identifying, from said detected consumer internet activity, a strategy to influence an Internet search function, social media site or mobile application to display selected information. Then, a subsequent broadcast of the item of media content is identified, and the identified strategy is triggered at the point the item occurs during the time of the identified subsequent broadcast.
Abstract:
Methods, systems and computer program products are provided for cross-media recommendation by store a plurality of taste profiles corresponding to a first domain and a plurality of media item vectors corresponding to a second domain. An evaluation taste profile in the first domain is applied to a plurality of models that have been generated based on relationship among the plurality of taste profiles and the plurality of media item vectors, and obtain a plurality of resulting codes corresponding to at least one of the plurality of media item vectors in the second domain.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to share file(s)/recommendation(s) are disclosed. An example method includes verifying a first service used by a first user recommending a file and encoding a first service identification code with the file based on the first service, verifying a second service used by a second user upon receipt of a file request by the second user and/or detection of a mention of the second user in the file recommendation, searching for a second service identification code associated with the file based on the second service and encoding the second service identification code with the file, and providing the file recommendation with the first service identification code to the second user where the second service and the first service are the same or providing the file recommendation with the second service identification code to the second user where the second service and the first service are different.
Abstract:
A method of automatically generating metadata for association with a collection of content items accessible to a system (1) for processing data included in the content items, includes obtaining sets of metadata associated with the content items individually, each set of metadata including at least one attribute value associated with the content item. At least one distribution of values of an attribute over the sets of metadata associated with the respective content items is analyzed. At least one attribute value is selected in dependence on the analysis. The selected attribute value(s) are processed to generate the metadata for association with the collection, and the generated metadata are made available to the system (1) for processing data included in the content items in connection with an identification of the collection of content items.
Abstract:
Information about desired songs is collected on a portable memory device in communication with a radio tuner. The radio tuner may receive signals from a terrestrial or satellite digital radio transmission, or from an analog radio transmission. These transmissions may include text data about the current song being played. Upon activation by a user, song data is stored on the memory device. The memory device is then connected to a computer system, which uses software to extract the song data and uniquely identify the song. The identified songs are stored on the computer system, and can be used to allow the user easy access to the identified song through prior art techniques. If no textual data is stored about a song, the song is identified by identifying the radio station that played the song and the time at which the user activated the mechanism.
Abstract:
Discovering content on a device. Content stored on a device can be examined or searched based on the programming of channels that are available to the device. The content can be searched using other rules related to user preferences. Based on the results of the examination of the content, playlists are generated. Each playlist includes content from the device that matches or partially matches the content associated with one of the channels. Using the playlists, a user can load content from their device that has a theme consistent with a particular channel. The playlists can also be used to tune to the channels associated with the playlists and thereby discover the content on those channels.
