The apparatus transmits an ARQ feedback based on the determination that the at least one broadcasted PDU is unsuccessfully received.

Various aspects are provided for cooperative reception. In one approach, a first access point (AP) may receive uplink data from a second AP, wherein the first AP and the second AP have an overlapping coverage area, where the uplink data is received at the first AP via the second AP from a wireless station within the overlapping coverage area. The first AP may communicate to the wireless station a block response frame associated with the uplink data. The block response frame may be a block acknowledgment frame. The block response frame may be communicated in response to a request by the wireless station or based on a scheduled time. The first AP may contend for a communications channel to communicate the block response frame. The wireless station or the first AP may set up the cooperative reception in which the second AP forwards the uplink data to the first AP.

A recovery mechanism for robust header compression (ROHC) is disclosed for wireless communication systems. The ROHC recovery mechanism may allow a receiver and/or transmitter in the wireless systems to establish or reestablish a context of a packet transmission session when an initialization and refresh message is lost. In the ROHC recovery mechanism, upon receiving a compressed packet that is not associated with a context, a receiver sends a message to a transmitter suggesting the transmitter to transition to another mode. Upon receiving a subsequent packet transmission that is not associated with a context, the receiver sends another message indicating that a context has not been established or has been lost. The transmitter may then send the receiver necessary information to establish a context for the packet transmission session.

A method is disclosed of a first device for wireless communication adapted to communicate with a second device for wireless communication over a communication channel in accordance with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) protocol. The method comprises receiving a first signal from the second device over the communication channel, estimating a first quality of the communication channel based on the received first signal, and transmitting a HARQ packet to the second device over the communication channel, wherein a transmission format of the HARQ packet is based on the estimation of the first quality. The method also comprises receiving a second signal from the second device over the communication channel, estimating a second quality of the communication channel based on the received second signal, and determining whether a deterioration between the first quality and the second quality exceeds a quality deterioration threshold. If the deterioration exceeds the quality deterioration threshold, the method comprises retransmitting the HARQ packet to the second device over the communication channel before reception of a response message associated with the HARQ packet is expected. The present disclosure provides a method for transmission of uplink control information, UCI, over a physical uplink shared channels, PUSCHs. The method comprising: determining a minimum number of physical resource blocks, PRBs, required for transmission of the UCI, based on the number of downlink component carriers, DL CCs; and scheduling at least the minimum number of PRBs for an uplink component carrier, UL CC, to transmit the UCI. The present disclosure also provides a network node for implementing the same.
