Methods and apparatuses are disclosed that may reduce overhead associated with setting up and tearing down block acknowledgment (BA) sessions between wireless devices. For one embodiment, wireless devices may establish one or more BA sessions with each other during an association procedure, for example, by providing BA session requests and related information within an association request frame. For another embodiment, two or more BA sessions may be established using a single exchange of ADDBA request and ADDBA response frames, for example, by including traffic identifier (TID) values for the two or more BA sessions in the ADDBA request frame. Similarly, two or more BA sessions may be torn down using a single DELBA request frame, for example, by including TID values for the two or more BA sessions in the DELBA request frame.

In a multi-subscription wireless communication device with a shared radio frequency (RF) resource supports an active data communication on a first network of a first SIM by performing tune-aways to support a subscription on a second SIM. After a tune-away of the shared RF to the second network, the wireless communication device may identify scheduled packet downlink acknowledgment/non-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) message transmissions on the modem stack associated with the first SIM. The wireless communication device may determine whether a next scheduled packet downlink ACK/NACK (PDAN) message transmission to the first network is missed, and if so, increment a PDAN failure counter on the modem stack associated with the first SIM. If the value of the PDAN failure counter on the modem stack associated with the first SIM is equal to a preset threshold, the wireless communication device may force the shared RF resource to tune back to the first network.

A technique for managing transfer of data frames having a pre-determined mutual order is presented. Each data frame contains an order indicator, for example a sequence number, indicative of the position of the data frame in the pre-determined mutual order. A transmitting end provides each data frame with a satisfaction indicator that indicates whether acknowledgement about reception of ear- lier transmitted data frames is expected from a receiving end. When the satisfaction indicator of a data frame indicates that no acknowledgement is expected, the receiving end knows that the data frame can be treated (303) as a beginning of a received data flow when checking the integrity of the received data flow on the basis of the order indicators. Thus, there is no need to establish a logical connection between the transmitting and receiving ends prior to the transfer of the data frames.

The present disclosure relates to methods of transmitting and receiving transmission feedback in a radio network node. More particularly the disclosure pertains to transmitting and receiving messages acknowledging reception and successful decoding of a transport block in a radio network node. The disclosure also relates to a wireless device providing transmission feedback and to a radio network node receiving the transmission feedback. The disclosure proposes a method, performed in a radio network node, of receiving transmission feedback. The method comprises transmitting S1, using a set of transmission properties, a transport block to a receiving wireless device and receiving S2, from the receiving wireless device, an acknowledgement, ACK, confirming reception and successful decoding of the transport block in the receiving wireless device, wherein the ACK defines a decoding margin of the decoding. The disclosure also proposes a corresponding method in a wireless device and corresponding devices as well as a corresponding computer program.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for enabling an immediate response. In this manner, issues can be avoided where data carried by the last symbol of a frame cannot be entirely decoded by a receiver within a deadline for generating an immediate response. One example method for wireless communications by a first apparatus generally includes determining at least one constraint for communicating with a second apparatus; generating a frame that solicits a response; and outputting the frame for transmission to the second apparatus, wherein at least a last symbol of the frame is transmitted in a manner determined by the constraint to allow the second apparatus to transmit the response within a determined period.

A method performed by a first network node, for transmitting a RLC UM, PDU, to a second network node is provided. The first network node and second network node operate in a wireless communications network. When detected that the RLC UM PDU has failed to be transmitted over a first channel, the first network node decides (202) to redirect the RLC UM PDU to be transmitted over a second channel. The first network node divides (203) the RLC UM PDU into two or more re-segmented RLC UM PDUs. The first network node then transmits (204) the re-segmented RLC UM PDUsto the second network node 120 over the second channel. Each re-segmented RLC UM PDU comprises the following indications: (a) that the re-segmented RLC UM PDU is re-segmented, (b) an order indicator related to the re-segmented RLC UM PDU, and (c) whether or not the re-segmented RLC UM PDUis a last re-segmented RLC UM PDU out of the two or more re-segmented RLC UM PDUs.

Techniques are disclosed whereby a signal is transmitted from a wireless network to a wireless device, requesting automatic repeat-request, ARQ, feedback for certain indicated ARQ processes. This asynchronous approach addresses a problem with irregular ARQ feedback for dynamic time-division-duplexing, and also allows for relaxed processing-time constraints in the wireless device. An example method, in a wireless device, comprises receiving (610) from a wireless communication network, in a first transmission-time interval, a request for ARQ feedback, the request indicating one or more ARQ processes. The example method further comprises transmitting (620) to the wireless communication network, in a second transmission-time interval, ARQ feedback information for each of the one or more indicated ARQ processes.
