    摘要: Embodiments disclosed herein describe gas extraction devices and methods, and in particular disclose a helium extraction system. An example device includes a containment tank having an input portion and an output portion, wherein the input portion is configured to connect to a source gas transmission line for receiving a source gas stream and the output portion is configured to connect to the source gas transmission line for exhausting remaining components of the source gas stream after extraction of helium. The example device further includes a membrane that is permeable to helium and substantially impermeable to other gas components of the source gas stream, and a cooling system configured to modulate a temperature of the membrane. The device further includes a vacuum cell surrounding the membrane, and a compression system configured to reduce the pressure within the vacuum cell and extract gas from the vacuum cell, and a storage tank.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for recovering methane from a gas stream comprising methane and ethylene, comprising: a sorption step which comprises contacting the gas stream comprising methane and ethylene with a sorption agent which has a lower affinity for methane than for ethylene, wherein the gas stream comprising methane and ethylene also comprises a compound for which the sorption agent has a lower affinity than for methane and ethylene, resulting in sorption of ethylene and methane by the sorption agent and in a gas stream comprising the compound for which the sorption agent has a lower affinity than for methane and ethylene; a first desorption step which comprises desorbing part of the sorbed methane resulting in a gas stream comprising methane in an amount of 1 to 99.9% based on the amount of methane in the gas stream that is subjected to the sorption step; and a second desorption step which comprises desorbing sorbed compounds resulting in a gas stream comprising the desorbed compounds.

    摘要: An apparatus and a method for replenishing a pressure swing adsorption system with an adsorbent is disclosed in the present disclosure. The apparatus comprises a hopper arrangement and a mechanism. The hopper arrangement is disposed about an operative top of the pressure swing adsorption system. The hopper arrangement is in fluid communication with the pressure swing adsorption system via an aperture. The hopper arrangement accommodates and selectively supplies adsorbent into the pressure swing adsorption system when the amount of the adsorbent within the pressure swing adsorption system is reduced below a predetermined threshold quantity due to adsorbent escape; and/or the purity of the target fluid emanating out of the pressure swing adsorption system is reduced below a predetermined threshold purity level. The mechanism selectively controls the flow of adsorbent into the pressure swing adsorption system.
