The invention is directed to a method of synthesising silicoaluminophosphate molecular sieves using synthesis templates that contain at least one dimethylamino moiety, selected from one or more of the following; N,N-dimethylethanolamine, N,N-dimethylpropanolamine, N,N-dimethylbutanolamine, N,N-dimethylheptanolamine, N,N-dimethylhexanolamine, N,N-dimethylethylenediamine, N,N-dimethylbutylenediamine, N,N-dimethylheptylenediamine, N,N-dimethylhexylenediamine 1-dimethylamino-2-propanol, N,N-dimethylethylamine, N,N-dimethylpropylamine, N,N-dimethylpentylamine, N,N-dimethylhexylamine or N,N-dimethylheptylamine. The use of dimethylamino moiety containing templates results in good quality SAPO molecular sieves of CHA framework type.

Disclosed are silicoaluminophosphates (SAPOs) having unique silicon distributions and high catalytic cracking activity, a method for their preparation and their use as FCC catalysts. More particularly, the new SAPOs have a high silica:alumina ratio and favorable Si atom distribution. The new SAPOs may have a small crystal size and may be synthesized from a single-phase synthesis solution.

The invention discloses a method for the pervaporation and vapor-permeation separation of a gas-liquid mixture/liquid mixture by an ion-exchanged SAPO-34 molecular sieve membrane, said method comprises the following steps: 1) synthesis of SAPO-34 molecular sieve seeds; 2) coating the SAPO-34 molecular sieve seeds onto the inner surface of a porous support; 3) synthesis of SAPO-34 molecular sieve membrane; 4) performing ion exchange and calcination; 5) using the ion-exchanged SAPO-34 molecular sieve membrane obtained in step 4) to perform the separation of a gas-liquid mixture or a liquid mixture by a process of pervaporation separation or vapor-permeation separation. The present method for membrane separation of methanol-dimethyl carbonate has advantages like low energy consumption, being not limited by azeotropic mixture, high methanol flux and high separation factors and thus has great economic value.

A method for synthesizing an aluminophosphate based molecular sieve is described. The method may include the steps of: (a) preparing an aqueous mixture comprising water, a substituted hydrocarbon, and a 1-oxa-4-azacyclohexane derivative; (b) reacting the aqueous mixture; (c) obtaining a solution comprising an organo-1-oxa-4-azoniumcyclohexane compound; (d) forming a reaction mixture comprising reactive sources of Al, and P, and the solution; and (e) heating the reaction mixture to form the molecular sieve.

Prepare a hybrid SAPO-34/ZSM-5 catalyst via sequential steps as follows: a) form a mixture consisting essentially of ZSM-5 as a sole source of silicon atoms, aluminum isopropoxide and a solution of orthophosphoric acid; b) combine the mixture with an aqueous solution of tetraethylammonium hydroxide to form a reaction mixture; and c) subject the reaction mixture to hydrothermal conditions for a period of time sufficient to convert the reaction mixture to a hybrid SAPO-34/ZSM-5 catalyst. Use the hybrid catalyst in converting an oxygenate (methanol and/or dimethyl ether) to an olefin.
