The photo-stable highly luminescent chromophores are useful in various applications, including in wavelength conversion films. Wavelength conversion films have the potential to significantly enhance the solar harvesting efficiency of photovoltaic or solar cell devices.

The present invention relates to novel compounds for an organic photoelectric device and to an organic photoelectric device comprising same, wherein said organic photoelectric device is made of materials containing the compounds as defined in chemical formula 1. The compounds for the organic photoelectric device according to the present invention can inject and transport holes, emit light, or inject and/or transport electrons in organic photoelectric devices, such as organic electroluminescent devices, and can cooperate with an appropriate dopant to serve as a light-emitting host. Said materials have superior thermal stability, and can lower the driving voltage of the organic photoelectric device, increase the lifespan thereof, and improve efficiency when applied to organic photoelectric devices such as organic electroluminescent devices.
