Abstract:
According to one embodiment, video data from a video transmitter (110) is received (420) at a network buffer (130). Information that pertains to a network buffer drain rate (14) of the network buffer (1q3) is monitored (430). The network buffer drain rate (140) is a rate that the video data is removed from the network buffer (130). The network buffer drain rate (140) is estimated (440) based on the monitored information. A transmission rate (120) that the video transmitter (110) transmits future video data is adjusted (450) to not exceed an allowed transmission rate (ATR) that is calculated based on the estimation of the network buffer drain rate (140).
Abstract:
A live streaming system/method provides cross platform live streaming capabilities to mobile devices. A file format compatible with legacy HTTP infrastructure is used to deliver media over a persistent connection. Legacy client media players can dynamically change the encoded rate of the media delivered over a persistent connection. Standard HTTP servers may be used without modification, leveraging standard media players embedded in mobile devices for seamless media delivery over wireless networks with high bandwidth fluctuations.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for indicating camera control operations to a remote party during a video conference session are provided. An interface is provided to a receiving party (receiving a video stream), allowing the receiving party to input any desired camera control indications to be sent to a sending party (sending a video stream). Signaling of camera control indications from the party receiving the video stream may be performed in-band together with a video stream itself, where the camera control indications are sent with Real-Time Control Protocol (RTCP) receiver reports or within a RTCP packet dedicated to transmitting camera control indications. Moreover, camera control indications received by the sending party may be rendered and converted into visual or audio signals, vibrations, etc. that are displayed to one or more video conferencing session participants, such as the sending party.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a buffer controlling apparatus and method using a play time during image transmission. The buffer controlling method using the play time during the image transmission includes controlling a transmission bit rate with respect to packets to be transmitted to a reception buffer based on bit capacity with respect to packets of the reception buffer, controlling a number of transmission frames with respect to the packets to be transmitted to the reception buffer based on a play time with respect to the packets of the reception buffer, and generating the packets to be transmitted corresponding to the transmission bit rate and the number of the transmission frames, and transmitting the generated packets to the reception buffer.
Abstract:
A client device receiving a media stream from a remote content server can fast forward and rewind the media stream without storing the media stream on the client device. In some examples, the client sends index, direction, and speed information to the content server based on desired fast forward and rewind operation. The content server transmits selected sets of frames to the client devices based on the index, direction, and speed information to allow a client to play a fast forward or rewind media stream that provides a user with discernible portions of content.
Abstract:
A method of processing additional information related to an announced service or content in a Non-Real Time (NRT) service and the broadcast receiver are disclosed herein. A method of providing a Non-Real Time (NRT) service in a broadcasting receiver includes receiving a service map table (SMT) and a first descriptor through a service signaling channel, identifying an image identifier and an image type of an image for an NRT service based upon the first descriptor, receiving the image via a flute session and displaying the image when corresponding service is played, wherein the image is logo or icon data for the NRT service. The method may further include connecting a service signaling channel, parsing the received SMT and the first descriptor, determining whether a service is the NRT service based upon the parsed SMT and storing the received image.
