Abstract:
The invention provides a phlebotomy device (10) including a holder (12) into which a fluid collection vial (24) can be inserted, or a phlebotomy device comprising an adapter (90,114) into which a holder (92,116) can be fitted. The phlebotomy device (10) includes a cranked needle (14) protruding from a front end of the holder (12,92,116) and extending into a cavity of the holder, and a needle shield (16), displaceably mounted on the holder. The needle shield (16) can be displaced to shield the needle (14) and can be locked non-releasably by way of disposal locking means, in a disposal position in which the needle (14) is shielded within the needle shield (16), to be disposed safely.
Abstract:
Needle protectors for housing used blood collection needles are disclosed. The needle protectors are single-piece protectors that include an open distal end for receiving a needle hub (with needle mounted thereon). A retaining member locks the hub when the needle hub is fully retracted. A viewing slot in one of the walls of the needle protector is provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus (100) for collecting blood samples comprises a sleeve (1) having a substantially cylindrical body (10), hollow on the inside, defining an inner chamber (11) open at the front and rear, a needle assembly (5) comprising a needle-carrier (50) which carries at its opposite ends a first external needle (51) designed to be inserted into the patient's vein and a second internal needle (52) designed to engage in a vacutainer-type test tube, and a safety device (7) having a substantially cylindrical hollow body (70) defining an inner chamber (71) able to receive the vacutainer-type test tube. The safety device is able to support the needle assembly (5) so that the internal needle (52) is disposed axially inside the chamber (71) of the safety device and the safety device (7) is mounted movably inside the chamber (11) of the sleeve (1) to pass from a working position in which the external needle (51) protrudes axially outward from the sleeve (1) to a safe position in which the external needle (51) is protected inside the chamber (11) of the sleeve (1) and the internal needle (52) is protected inside the chamber (71) of the safety device (7).
Abstract:
A lancet body (2) is integrally moulded with a cap (3) for a firing device, the cap concealing the needle tip (5). The cap (3) can be used to insert the lancet (1), which is held while the cap is twisted off. The cap (3) is then fitted to the firing device to provide an apertured platform to be held against the skin and through which the needle tip (5) will momentarily project. The cap (3) has to be deformed to fit, and on being removed and recovering its natural shape internal lugs (14) catch hold of the released lancet (1) and remove that as well.
Abstract:
A device for underpressuring collection and dosage liquid samples, in particular for analytic tests, comprises a holder with blood sample collection tube-syringe (4) on the one side and a needle arrangement (11, 12) on the other side, the holder comprises a set of two valves, the first valve on the tube-syringe's side being a tyre valve and the second valve on the side of the needle being a membrane valve (6, 7, 8) which has a membrane (6) placed on an under-support (7) with side-inlets (8). By virtue of the present invention, after inspection of the correctly performed injection into the blood vascular system or any body cavity in the observation window, the liquid material flows into the blood sample collection tube-syringe in unconstrained manner and it cannot flow back. Moreover, the shield of the holder is a safety container for a used needle. The device according to the invention may be used also for dosage remedy liquids with an added opening needle head.
Abstract:
There is disclosed herein a disposable self-shielding aspirating syringe including a body (1) having a cavity (8) for receiving a medical carpule (c) and including a needle for penetrating the carpule and for injecting medicine into a patient. A protector case (26) slidably fits on the body and has a first open end through which the needle extends, and a second end wherein the second end of the case and body have cooperating detents for facilitating placement of the case with respect to the body for uncovering and covering an exposed end of the needle. The case can include an elongated window (35) for allowing the carpule to be viewed in the body through the window. The body can include a tab (25) for extending through and engaging an end of the window for limiting the relative movement of the case and body. A plug (45) and plunger (56) assembly also is included for causing medicine from the carpule to be administered through the needle.
Abstract:
A safety syringe (10) is disclosed and claimed. The syringe (10) comprises a tube (12) on which a hollow needle (16) is mountable for communicating with the inside of the tube. A plunger (28) is mounted in tube (12) for telescopic movement relative thereof. An outer sleeve (3) is mounted on the tube (12) and is moveable from a first needle-exposing position to a second needle covering position. Clips (40) are provided between tube 12 and sleeve (30) releasably to lock the sleeve in the said first position and permanently to lock the sleeve in the said second position. A formation (40.8) is provided on each clip on which pressure is exerted to release the clip when the sleeve is in its first position, without deformation of the sleeve.
Abstract:
A system for use with evacuated, rubber stoppered sample tubes (3) and double-ended needles (1) facilitates blood collecting operations and prevents accidental punctures from contaminated needles after use. The tube (1) is held in a tubular cartridge (12) with a sliding control (10) for to and fro controlled motion. A holder (2) engages the mid portion of the needle (3) and the cartridge and the sliding control slides the tube onto the needle after blood vessel puncture and slides it off the needle after collection. A sliding assembly (90) positions a shield (103) at the needle point (7) and the shield is impaled upon the point so that the needle may be discarded with the point protected. A finger control (35) releases the needle while avoiding exposure to the point. A refined receptacle (53) in a phlebotomy tray (50) holds used needles and dumps them in controlled fashion without overturning the tray.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a safety needle device, for a medical instrument, to insert a needle into a patient's body to a determined insertion depth for injection of a cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical composition or for taking tissue sample, especially bodily fluid sample. The safety needle device, in two variants with a fixed insertion depth and with an insertion depth adjustment, comprises a hub (2), a needle (11), a protecting shield (4), longitudinal resilient means (6), transverse resilient means (12), a housing (3), and is provided with different technical means configured to cooperate with each other in order to perform different functions of the device. The safety needle device enables to control a state of use of the device, wherein the device is a disposable one and it ensures its user a protection against an accidental or intentional prick of the needle before and after the due use of the device for the purpose for which it is intended.
Abstract:
A low-profile universal passive protector is provided for an IV catheter comprising a hypodermic needle and a catheter. An elongate sheath defines a sheath cavity and a longitudinal axis. A slider is connected to the hypodermic needle and is movable along the sheath between first and second positions for withdrawing the needle into the sheath. A finger-press plate is coupled to the sheath and extends beyond the slider in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis to define a plate height. A flashback body is coupled to the slider in a manner such that the flashback body and slider collectively define a cavity in fluid communication with the hypodermic needle. The flashback body is sized and configured to extend from the slider in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis to define a flashback body height that is less than the plate height.
