摘要: A radioactive stent formed in a body lumen is provided. The radioactive stent includes an article shaped to provide support to a section of a body lumen and allow biological material which would otherwise flow through the body lumen to flow through the article, the article including a non-fluent stent composition containing a radioactive isotope with a short half-life in intimate contact with the section of the body lumen which was delivered through the body lumen to the section as a fluent pre-stent composition and transformed adjacent the section of the body lumen to the non-fluent stent composition.

摘要: A resilient graft construction incorporates a structural layer (38) formed of a resilient body compatible metal or polymer, and a fluid impervious layer of graft material (40) secured to the structural layer. The structural layer includes an elongate longitudinal primary section (42), and secondary sections (46) extended transversely from opposie sides of the primary section (42). The secondary sections (46) can be arranged in opposed pairs, or staggered. The secondary sections (46) further can be tapered in width, thickness or both. The grafts can be constructed by stamping or otherwise severing structural layer patterns from a flat sheet of structural material, then thermally setting the structural layers when they are wrapped about a mandril to determine a relaxed state curvature. Opposed longitudinal edges either can overlap one another or be spaced apart from one another in the relaxed state. According to one alternative, the structural layer (38) alone functions as a stent. Other alternatives include circumferentially closed graft structures, one of which consists of a resilient graft material.

摘要: A novel process for paving or sealing the interior surface of a tissue lumen by entering the interior of the tissue lumen and applying a polymer to the interior surface of the tissue lumen. This is accomplished using a catheter which delivers the polymer to the tissue lumen (134) and causes it to conform to the interior surface of lumen. The polymer can be delivered to the lumen as a monomer or prepolymer solution, or as an at least partially preformed layer on an expansible member (133).
