The invention relates to an electro-conductive paste comprising elemental phosphorus in the preparation of electrodes in solar cells, particularly in the preparation of electrodes in MWT solar cells, particularly in the preparation of the metal wrap through, or plug, electrode in such solar cells. In particular, the invention relates to a solar cell precursor, a process for preparing a solar cell, a solar cell and a module comprising solar cells. The invention relates to a solar cell precursor at least comprising as precursor parts: i) a wafer (101) with at least one hole (315) with a Si surface (113); ϋ) an electro-conductive paste (105) at least comprising as paste constituents: a) metallic particles; b) an inorganic reaction system; c) an organic vehicle; and d) an additive; comprised by the hole, wherein elemental phosphorus is present in at least one of the paste constituents.

An aluminium paste having no or only poor fire-through capability comprises aluminium particles, at least one glass frit containing 0.5 to 15 wt.% SiO2, 0.3 to 10 wt.% Al2O3 and 67 to 75 wt.% Bi2O3 (the weight percentages being based on the total weight of the glass frit) and an organic vehicle. The aluminium paste is used in the manufacture of aluminium back electrodes of PERC (passivated emitter and rear contact) silicon solar cells, wherein the paste is applied on a perforated dielectric passivation layer on the back-side of a silicon wafer and subsequently dried and fired or, alternatively, wherein the paste is applied on a non-perforated passivation layer on the back-side of a silicon wafer, dried and fired and the aluminium layer and the passivation layer are subsequently laser fired to produce perforations in the passivation layer and to form local BSF (back surface field) contacts.

This invention relates an aluminum (Al) conductor paste formulation and its method of application on rear side passivated locally laser fired contacts (LFC). Such Back Surface Passivated (BSP) Si-solar cells include aluminum conductor paste formulations and methods of application on rear side passivated locally opened vias; dot or line geometry or combination thereof employing laser ablation or chemical etching methods. Such Back Surface Passivated Si- solar cells include dielectric layers of A1203, SiNx, Si02, SiC, alpha-Si, Si02/SiNx, A1203/SiNx, SiO2A12/SiNx. The Al-conductor paste of this invention achieves; (i) non-degradation of passivation stack, (ii) defect free surfaces and void free vias, (iii) a strong and uniform Back Surface Field (BSF) layer within dot vias and line vias.

Provided in one embodiment is a method of making an aerogel, comprising: (A) increasing a concentration of a suspension comprising a gel precursor under a condition that promotes formation of a gel, wherein the gel precursor comprises particulates having an asymmetric geometry; and (B) removing a liquid from the gel to form the aerogel, wherein the aerogel and the gel have substantially the same geometry. An aerogel comprising desirable properties are also provided.

The silver paste is used in the manufacture of metallisations (electrodes, parts of electrodes or other metal contacts) of solar cells.
