A shackle pin split nut assembly for a shackle having a pair of aligned openings for receipt of a shackle bolt. In one preferred embodiment, the assembly includes a two-piece clamp having a first ring segment and a second ring segment wherein the ring segments rotate about a pivot pin between a closed and locked position and an open position. A first button is received in a recess in the first ring segment with a spring urging the first button outward. A first tab projects from the first button which travels in a slot in the second ring segment. A second button is received in a recess in the second ring segment with a spring urging the second button outward. A second tab projects from the second button which travels in a slot in the first ring segment wherein the springs urge the first tab and the second tab toward the closed and locked position.

A carabiner (1) for a fall arrest system (30), including: a frame (16); and an openable gate (17) attached to the frame (16) and configured to be moved from an open position, wherein at least one harness connector (2) and at least one fall arrest device (4,5) can be attached to or detached from the frame (16), and a closed position, wherein the at least one harness connector (2) and the at least one fall arrest device (4,5) can be secured to the frame (16); wherein the frame (16) comprises at least one shaped portion (34) configured to facilitate a substantially co-planar relationship when the at least one harness connector (2) is secured to the frame (16) and during operation. A snap hook (100) that includes a body (125), a gate (180), a connection link (200) and a breakable fastener (200) is provided. A central portion (125c) of the body is positioned between an upper portion and a lower portion. The gate is pivotally coupled proximate the central portion of the body. The gate and the body selectively forming a closed configuration that defines a hook connection passage and an open configuration that provides access to the hook connection passage. An upper end of the connection link is pivotally coupled proximate the central portion of the body. A lower end of the connection link includes a body connection aperture. The breakable fastener couples the lower end of the connection link proximate the lower portion (125b) of the body. The breakable fastener is configured to break when a select amount of force is applied to the lower end of the connection link to transfer the force from the lower portion of the body to the central portion of the body.

A fastener and a fastener installation device which enables cables to be installed in hard to reach places safely and quickly. The fastener including a body forming a loop; a first connector formed at a first end of the body; and a second connector formed at a second end of the body; wherein the first connector is complementary with the second connector. The first connector of the first fastener connects with a second connector of a second fastener and the second connector of the first fastener connects with a first connector of a third fastener to form a chain of fasteners. The installation device including a hollow body and a cap rotatably mounted to an end of the hollow body which includes an aperture allowing a top fastener to pass through the aperture when the cap is in a first position.

An animal lead has an attachment (10) for fastening a loop (2) of a collar (1) or harness. The attachment means (10) has a generally c-shaped body defining an internal opening (9) with a mouth for accepting the fastening loop. Opposed lever plates (11, 12), including gate portions arranged to close the mouth have fins arranged to project externally from the c-shaped body to act as a trigger for moving the lever plates between closed and open positions. A retaining means, such as a spring, is arranged to releasably hold the lever plates in the closed position. The spring may also be arranged to bias the lever plates towards the open position when the lever plates are in the open position so that the lever plates are bistable between the open and closed positions.
