Abstract: The present invention relates to fabric conditioning compositions and processes for cleaning and conditioning. The invention especially relates to processes for easier cleaning of the fabric onto which a stain or soil is deposited after treating a fabric with the composition of the invention. It is an object of the present invention to provide a fabric cleaning and/or conditioning composition that utilizes less (or no) surfactant and less energy. It is a further object of the invention to provide a composition that is biodegradable, to meet every increasing demand to provide environmentally friendly detergent products that are required by both consumers and legislators throughout the world. Surprisingly it has been found that the combination of a protein and a carboxylic polymeric acid or a polysaccharide or a gum polymer and a protein in an aqueous medium provide a secondary cleaning benefit (next-time-cleaning-benefit) to fabrics.
