Abstract:
Targeted marketing communication systems (TMCSs) and corresponding methods are described that enable ongoing focused marketing communication between participating vendors and participating subscribers. The TMCS rewards a participating subscriber with points for reporting activity data (e.g., recurring subscriber activity, automobile mileage, cellular telephone minutes, long-distance telephone minutes, etc.) and for undertaking additional tasks such as completing surveys and questionnaires. The points are redeemable for discounts on goods and services provided by participating vendors. The locus of interaction between vendor and subscriber is a TMCS interface. The TMCS provides vendors with the opportunity of developing long-term exposure to brands and goods and services resulting in higher levels of subscriber loyalty and purchasing. The TMCS provides subscribers with the opportunity to acquire greater knowledge of vendor goods and services and secure discounts on such goods and services through the TMCS.

A system and method for disputing individual items that are the subject of a transaction includes storing, in a database, a record of a transaction in which a plurality of goods or services were sold to an individual that owns a transaction card through which access to monetary funds may be obtained, so that the transaction is identified by a transaction identifier. Also, information identifying each good or service that is a subject of the transaction is associated with said transaction identifier. A business method of promoting a commercial activity which involves identifying customers to be attracted to the commercial activity, distributing at least one token to each of the identified customers, each of the distributed tokens having a true cash value within the situs where the commercial activity takes place and allowing the identified customers to which the tokens are distributed to participate in the commercial activity within the situs. The tokens can also be provided with serialized data which can be collected and recorded when the tokens are distributed and collected using imaging technology. The recorded data can be used to determine and develop marketing strategies based on the manner in which the tokens were distributed and dispersed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device (20) and a process for acquiring files (F) by accumulation of points. The device is designed for a user of a receiver of data of a communication network (5, 6, 7), able to earn points by accomplishing at least one predefined operation, and to acquire at least one of the files by downloading via this communication network, when the aggregate number of points reaches a predetermined level associated with this file. The device comprises an automatic control module (21) for ordering downloading via this network to a storage space (10) accessible to this receiver, of portions (PiF) of this file, designed to order the downloading of each of these portions when the number of points earned by this user reaches a fraction of this predetermined level which corresponds to this portion.
Abstract:
A transaction system, including a server for receiving bids for coupons at prices less than a predetermined value, each coupon representing an outcome of an event having more than two possible outcomes, the coupon having the predetermined value if that outcome occurs and no value if that outcome does not occur, and a transaction engine for generating bid data representing buy and sell bids for and against each outcome of the event on the basis of the received bids, and determining a match between received bids on the basis of the generated bid data.
