Abstract:
A system for generating transaction settlement identifiers includes an arrangement configured to receive a biometric sample from a customer and an arrangement configured to use the biometric sample to select the transaction settlement identifier from a pool of predetermined transaction settlements. A mapping arrangement configured to map the selected financial transaction settlement identifier to an identifier of the customer also may be included.
Abstract:
A money transfer authorization method that includes the step of providing transferor biometric information to a party verification processor that verifies an identity of the transferor by comparing the transferor biometric information with previously registered biometric information from the transferor, where the transferor provides transfer identity information to receive the money. The method also includes confirming that the verified transferor has sufficient funds or credit for the money transfer, and providing transferee biometric identification to the party verification processor that verifies the transferee by comparing the transferee biometric information with previously registered biometric information from the transferee. The transferee has to provide transfer identity information before the money is given to the transferee.
Abstract:
A method for providing a coupon code to a recipient via a network includes storing a coupon code on a tangible storage medium of a host computer, receiving a request for the coupon code from the recipient, and providing the recipient with the coupon code via the network in response to the request. The coupon code is transmitted along the network between the host computer and the recipient as an analog or digital audio signal.
Abstract:
A method for transferring funds from a sender to a recipient includes receiving a request to transfer the funds from a sender; creating a transaction record having a transaction identifier; providing the transaction identifier to the sender; receiving the transaction identifier from a recipient; obtaining a first biometric sample from the recipient; using the biometric sample to select a MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) from a pool of predetermined MTCNs; associating the MTCN with the first biometric sample and the transaction record; providing the MTCN to the recipient; thereafter, receiving a request from the recipient to receive the funds; obtaining the MTCN from the recipient; obtaining a second biometric sample from the recipient; using the MTCN and/or the second biometric sample to locate the transaction record; comparing the second biometric sample to the first biometric sample; and determining whether to provide the funds based on the comparison.
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods to initiate, facilitate, process and/or perform money transfers. One such method includes receiving a request for a transfer pair verification from a vendor location (360), and verifying that the transfer pair is associated with a valid transfer pair record (362). The method includes sending the transfer pair verification to the vendor location (368), receiving a money transfer request (370) associated with the transfer pair from the vendor location, and authorizing a money transfer (372) to at least one of a first and second customers associated with the transfer pair, hi this manner, a vendor location, which may include a point-of-sale device and may be a retail outlet (e.g., grocery store, gas station, or the like), can be used to facilitate a money transfer between two customers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to systems and methods for staging transactions and facilitating payments by consumers to a lender or merchant to consummate a financial transaction and/or to maintain a financial relationship. In one embodiment, a method for accepting payments from a consumer includes receiving a promise-to-pay record from a lender (210), receiving a payment from the consumer (220), associating the payment with the promise-to-pay record (230), and sending a notice to the lender (240), with the notice having an indicator that the payment has been received.
Abstract:
The present invention provides systems and methods to initiate, facilitate, process and/or perform money transfers. One such method includes establishing a money transfer record (310) and receiving, from a vendor location, a money transfer activation request (320) associated with the money transfer record. The method includes receiving a fulfillment request (330) associated with the money transfer record, collecting a customer data set, and authorizing a money transfer (340) associated with the money transfer record. The money transfer is facilitated by the creation of a money transfer record, which may occur prior to the money transfer activation request. The customer then can initiate the money transfer while at the vendor location using, for example, money transfer cards available for purchase from the vendor.
Abstract:
The present invention generally provides systems and methods for performing money transfer transactions via a wireless communication device, such as a cellular phone, hi accordance with the invention, the wireless communication device is associated with, or automatically linked to, at least one payment source account {i.e., the wireless communication device is associated with a payment source account that may be automatically charged for payment of account balances, authorized charges, and/or money transfers), hi a preferred embodiment, the wireless communication device is associated with at least one pre- paid payment source account, hi one example, the wireless communication device is a pre- paid cellular phone and/or is associated with a pre-paid money transfer account, hi certain aspects, the wireless communication device may access a pre-directed phone number, e.g., *55, to access a money transfer service provider. Once connected to a money transfer service provider, a user may initiate a money transfer via the wireless device, which is optionally paid to a payee in-person at a money transfer service provider location.
Abstract:
A payment instrument that may be purchased at a retail location and used for conducting money transfers and other financial transactions. The amount associated with the instrument is stored in an non-banking account maintained by a money transfer entity. In order to activate the instrument after it has been purchased, a customer links the instrument to a personal profile of the customer using a PIN provided with the instrument.
Abstract:
A method of transporting electronic data in a distributed computer network, where the method includes receiving, at a first network node, a first data packet that includes a network event identifier, a user account identifier, and network event data, where the user account identifier points to a location on the first network node where the user account is stored, and the network event data define an operation between a user and a network operator. The method also includes processing the network event parameters with a loyalty algorithm to generate a loyalty value parameter; and calculating an updated account value parameter for the user account using the loyalty value parameter.
