    Abstract: High-resolution intravascular ultrasound (H-IVUS) operates under a large acoustic bandwidth, provides high resolution while maintaining good depth penetration, and exhibits other favorable characteristics like focused imaging. A H-IVUS transducer assembly can be manufactured at a low cost using conventional methods commonly utilized in the microelectronics industry. The H-IVUS transducer assembly can include a printed circuit having one or more electrical signal conditioners. One or more convertors made of a polymer and configured to convert electrical energy to acoustic energy and acoustic energy to electrical energy can be formed in place away from the printed circuit. After construction, the one or more formed in place convertors are interfaced to the printed circuit with at least a conductive material.

The bone fixation device can be an intramedullary fixation device that can be used for bone fracture or osteotomy stabilization Specifically, the device can be used to stabilize and/or compress two or more bone fragments or segments. The helical bone fixation screw has a plurality of threads with a leading end and a trailing end.     Abstract: An apparatus for partially supporting a leaflet of a regurgitant heart valve includes at least one subvalvular device including a subvalvular supporting portion and an anchor portion. The subvalvular supporting portion and anchor portion are each at least partially formed from at least one of braided mesh strands of a first configuration, braided mesh strands of a second configuration, a balloon, a plurality of longitudinally extending struts, and a plurality of laterally extending struts. A connector neck is interposed longitudinally between, and is attached to both of, the subvalvular supporting portion and the anchor portion. The connector neck penetrates longitudinally through at least one of a base of the leaflet and an annulus of the heart valve at a manufactured puncture site.

    Abstract: An intraocular lens (IOL) with a shape-changing optic is provided. The IOL includes an anterior face and/or a posterior face that is fabricated from a poly(dimethylsiloxane) elastomer having a durometer between about 30 Shore A to about 50 Shore A. A chamber is located between the anterior face and the posterior face and includes a silicone oil including diphenyl siloxane and dimethyl siloxane units. The silicone oil has a maximum viscosity of about 700 mm2/s at 25°C and has a mean molecular weight of less than about 3,000 Daltons. An IOL is also provided that includes an anterior face and/or posterior face that is fabricated from a polysiloxane that is at least 99% poly(dimethylsiloxane) elastomer.

    Abstract: An apparatus for anastomosing a cut vessel is provided. The apparatus includes a first ring having an inner surface that defines inner lumen. The inner lumen is configured to receive a first vessel end of the cut vessel. The inner surface of the first ring has at least one spike configured to penetrate the first vessel end and secure the first ring to the first vessel end. A second ring has an inner surface defining an inner lumen configured to receive a second vessel end of the cut vessel. The inner surface of the second ring has at least one spike configured to penetrate the second vessel end and secure the second ring to the second vessel end. The first and second rings, after being secured to the first and second vessel ends, are configured to be joined together into direct engagement to anastomose the cut vessel.

    Abstract: A surgical system, method, and apparatus for suturing a first anatomical structure to a second anatomical structure of a subject includes an endoscope tube for being advanced through a lumen of the first anatomical structure to a surgical site near the second anatomical structure. A manipulator arm extends through the endoscope tube to the surgical site, and includes a first concentric tube manipulator with an end effector configured to grasp and manipulate a suture at the surgical site. A needle arm extends through the endoscope tube to the surgical site, and includes a second concentric tube manipulator with a needle tip configured to pierce the tissue of the first and second anatomical structures. The needle arm is also configured to grasp the suture and to retract and pull the suture through the pierced tissue so that the suture extends through and forms stitching that stitches together the first and second anatomical structures.
