A simulation system to determine an optimal trajectory path for a robot with an attached implement includes a trajectory simulator which provides a simulated trajectory path for an implement, an implement model database which comprises motion data of the implement, and a logger that associates a time stamp of the implement's motion during the simulated trajectory path to generate logger data. A profile is determined by the logger data received from the logger which identifies implement motion that exceeds predetermined thresholds, and a tuner adjusts the simulated trajectory path so as to reduce the number of times predetermined thresholds are exceeded.

Es wird ein Verfahren zum Betrieb eines Systems gemäß TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) mit einer Vielzahl drahtloser Sensoren und / oder Aktoren als Knoten (S.1...S.n) und einer Basisstation (BS) vorgeschlagen, welches in einer Maschine oder Anlage, wie Industrieroboter, Herstellungsautomat oder Fertigungsautomat installiert ist, wobei zyklische TDMA-Datenübertragungsblöcke übertragen werden und sich jeder TDMA-Datenübertragungsblock aus sukzessive nacheinander folgenden Zeitschlitzen zusammensetzt. Jeder Zeitschlitz ist einem bestimmten Knoten zugeordnet. Die uplink Signale (UL.1...UL.n) von den unterschiedlichen Knoten (S.1...S.n) zu der Basisstation (BS) können gleichzeitig auf zwei, drei oder mehr unterschiedlichen Frequenzen (f1, f2, f3) gesendet werden, während die downlink Signale (DL) von der Basisstation (BSA) zu den unterschiedlichen Knoten (S.1...S.n) auf lediglich einer, von den uplink Frequenzen unterschiedlichen Frequenz gesendet werden. Die Zeitschlitze und die unterschiedlichen uplink Frequenzen der unterschiedlichen Knoten werden einmal festgelegt und danach beibehalten.

A system for tuning robot trajectory to obtain optimal material thickness on an object includes at least one robot adapted to dispense material, a controller connected to the robot to control movement of the robot and to dispense material in relation to the object. A tuner is connected to the controller to iteratively simulate dispensing of the material on the object based on movement of the robot, and to adjust dispensing of the material and movement of the robot to obtain a desired material thickness on the object based on the iterative simulations. A related method to optimize dispensing material on an object includes simulating a path trajectory of a material dispensing robot in relation to an object is also disclosed.

Disclosed is a method for operating a system according to time division multiple access (TDMA), comprising a plurality of wireless sensors and/or actuators as nodes (S.1 ... S.n) and a base station (BS), said system being installed in a machine or an installation, such as an industrial robot, automatic production or fabrication machine. Cyclical TDMA data transmission blocks are transmitted, each TDMA data transmission block being composed of successive time slots, each of which is assigned to a specific node. The uplink signals (UL.1 ... UL.n) from the different nodes (S.1 ... S.n) to the base station (BS) can be simultaneously transmitted on two, three or more different frequencies (f1, f2, f3) while the downlink signals (DL) from the base station (BSA) to the different nodes (S.1 ... S.n) are transmitted on a single frequency that is different from the uplink frequencies. The time slots and the different uplink frequencies are defined once and are subsequently maintained.

According to the inventive method for configuring the sensor, the sensor (1.1 1s) continuously compares sensor data (SD) detected in the sensor mode to ensure that they correspond with characteristic, stored, predetermined sensor data (SDM). As soon as the sensor has established that the data correspond, it switches from the sensor mode to a configuration mode. The data corresponding to the characteristic sensor data (SDM) are used for configuring the sensor (1.1 1.s). After this configuration data has been received, the sensor switches back to sensor mode. The invention also relates to a configurable sensor. Said sensor is provided with a comparator (3), which continuously compares sensor data (SD) detected by a sensing element (2) to ensure that they correspond with the characteristic, stored, predetermined sensor data (SDM). An electronic evaluating device (4) for configuring the sensor is also provided. The comparator (3) intermittently subjects said evaluating device to the received sensor data as soon as it is established that the data correspond.
