Abstract:
A method of promoting oral tolerance to proteins in an animal comprising administering glycated forms of said proteins to the animal; glycated proteins for use in the promotion of oral tolerance in an animal; a food product comprising glycated proteins for use in the same; and a method for making said food product.
Abstract:
A nutritional composition is proposed comprising a probiotic and milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) wherein the MFGM and the probiotics mutually potentiate their respective effects and promote complementary beneficial protective mechanisms that reflect physiological synergy. The nutritional composition can be an infant formula, infant cereals, baby food or health care nutritional product. The synergistic effect can include promoting immune maturation and/or immune education and/or reducing inflammation and/or treating or preventing disease or infections.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to compositions comprising the proteose peptone fraction (PPf). In particular, the present invention relates to a method for the production of an extract comprising a demineralised protein fraction depleted in β-lactoglobulin and enriched in the PPf and to uses of these extracts, e.g. in a food product, a food supplement, a nutritional, a pharmaceutical and/or a cosmetic composition, for example as emulsifier or as foaming agent. The PPf fraction of the present invention may be obtained by adjustment of the pH of an aqueous native protein dispersion to about 5.6 to 8.4, or to about 3.5 to 5.0, heating the aqueous native protein dispersion to about 70-95 °C for about 10 seconds to 60 minutes, removing at least a part of the formed solid large molecular weight aggregates with a diameter of at least 100nm from the aqueous protein dispersion after heating and collecting the remaining liquid fraction of the dispersion.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to whey protein micelles, particularly to a method for forming them in-situ. The present invention also pertains to instant beverages or liquid comestibles containing said micelles.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to aggregates of whey protein micelles and active agents, and methods for producing them, particularly to their use as delivery vehicle for active agents in the field of nutrition and/or cosmetics.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to whey protein micelles, particularly to whey protein micelle concentrates or powders thereof and to a method for producing them. The present invention also pertains to the use of these micelles concentrates or powders thereof in nutrition and/or cosmetics and/or pharmaceutics.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the topical application of protein micelles, such as whey protein or casein micelles. It further relates to a cosmetic composition obtainable by the process comprising the steps of -. a . Producing whey protein micelles or aggregates thereof and b. Incorporating said micelles or aggregates thereof into a composition. It also relates to the use of whey protein micelles or aggregates thereof as cosmetic agent. It also relates to the use of protein micelles, especially whey protein micelles or aggregates thereof as abrasive medium.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to nutritionally balanced frozen desserts, in particular to pasteurised frozen dessert having a high protein content and to a method for manufacturing them. Whey protein micelles, concentrates thereof and/or powders thereof can be used in the manufacture of frozen dessert.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to the field of food and drink compositions containing a lipid fraction. Embodiments of the present invention relate to compositions and uses to retard fat uptake from consumed products. For example, the present invention relates to a specific proteose peptone fraction and its use to retard fat hydrolysis.
