Abstract:
The present invention relates to apertured nonwovens (30) comprising a first nonwoven layer comprising cellulose-based fibers and a plurality of apertures (302), wherein the plurality apertures (302) have a minimum aperture distance between two adjacent apertures which has a relative standard deviation no greater than about 40%, as measured according to the Aperture Quality Test, and either the apertures (302) has an aperture size no greater than about 2.2mm 2 and have an occlusion no greater than about 9%, as measured according to the Aperture Quality Test, or wherein the apertures (302) have an aspect ratio no greater than about 2.5 as measured according to the Aspect Ratio Test. The present invention also relates to an apertured nonwoven (30) comprising a first nonwoven layer comprising cellulose-based fibers and a plurality of apertures (302), the apertures (302) formed by pin-hole aperturing, wherein the plurality apertures (302) have a minimum aperture distance between two adjacent apertures which have a relative standard deviation no greater than about 40%, as measured according to the Aperture Quality Test.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional substrate comprises a pattern comprising a repeat unit, wherein the repeat unit comprises a non-apertured area and a plurality of apertures defining the non-apertured area, wherein the non-apertured area comprises a protrusion, the non-apertured area having an area no less than 100mm 2 as measured according to Area of Non-apertured Area; a three-dimensional substrate comprising a pattern comprising a repeat unit, wherein the repeat unit comprises at least one three-dimensional element such as protrusion and at least one land, wherein the three-dimensional element comprises at least one concave portion; and an absorbent article comprises the three-dimensional substrate disclosed herein.
Abstract:
An absorbent article is provided, comprising a liquid pervious topsheet (24), a backsheet (26) an absorbent core (28) disposed between the topsheet (24) and the backsheet (26), and an outer cover forming at least part of a garment-facing surface of the absorbent article, the outer cover comprising a three-dimensional substrate, wherein the three-dimensional substrate comprises a first layer (1) and a second layer (2), and a plurality of protrusions (9) where the first layer (1) is unbonded to the second layer (2), and wherein the absorbent article has a Qmax-wet of 1300W/m2or less as measured according to Qmax Test described herein.
Abstract:
A cleaning composition contains one or more linear or branched C 6 -C 18 alkyl sulphate surfactants with a specific chain length distribution in combination with a cationic polymer containing one or more cationic structural unit with a cationic charge density ranging from 0.05 to 10 milliequivalents/g. Such cleaning compositions exhibit surprising and unexpected improvement in the sudsing profiles and are particularly suitable for use in hand-washing fabrics.
Abstract:
A method and system of communicating visual communication quality information, includes extracting reduced-reference (RR) feature data from visual content, embedding the RR feature data in the visual content; and transmitting the visual content with the embedded RR feature data. Visual communication quality is assessed by receiving visual content which includes visual content data and a first set of embedded RR feature data, retrieving the first set of RR feature data from the visual content data, and generating a second set of RR feature data from the visual content data. The second set of RR feature data corresponds to substantially identical features of the visual content data as that used to generate the first set of RR feature data. The first set of RR feature data is compared to the second first set of RR feature data to determine a quality of the visual content based upon the comparison.
Abstract:
This invention relates to potent potassium channel blocker compounds of Formula (I) or a formulation thereof for the treatment of glaucoma and other conditions which leads to elevated intraoccular pressure in the eye of a patient. This invention also relates to the use of such compounds to provide a neuroprotective effect to the eye of mammalian species, particularly humans, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, in vivo hydrolysable ester, enantiomer, diastereomer or mixture thereof: formula (II) represents C 6-10 aryl or C 3-10 heterocyclyl, said aryl or heterocyclyl optionally substituted with 1-3 groups selected from R a ; Z represents (CH 2 ) n PO(OR)(OR*).

Abstract:
A method for making a hydrophilic and lubricious coating, the coating so made and a medical device including such coating, wherein the coating includes a hydrophilic polymeric unit layer cross- linked with a plasma deposited double bond monomer, The hydrophilic polymeric unit can include ethylene oxide with one or more primary or secondary alcohol groups or glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronic acid, and the double bond monomer includes monomers containing at least one double bond, preferably a C=C, C=N or C=O bond, including N-trimethylsilyl-allylamine, ethylene, propylene and allyl alcohol, The invention also provides products containing such coatings and their uses in medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to certain piperidines, pyrrolidines, and hexahydro-1H-azepines of general structural formula (I), wherein B is selected from (a) and (b), and R , R , R , R , R , R , R , R , R , R , D, X, Y, n, x and y are as defined herein. These compounds promote the release of growth hormone in humans and animals. This property can be utilized to promote the growth of food animals to render the production of edible meat products more efficient, and in humans, to treat physiological or medical conditions characterized by a deficiency in growth hormone secretion, such as short stature in growth hormone deficient children, and to treat medical conditions which are improved by the anabolic effects of growth hormone. Growth hormone releasing compositions containing such compounds as the active ingredient thereof are also disclosed.
