Abstract: The invention concerns a waste gas purification device, in particular for purifying waste gases from CVD, plasma etching or similar processes. The device comprises at least one combustion chamber vertically disposed inside an outer tube delimited at the top by an umbrella-like covering. The device further comprises an inwardly mixing or outwardly mixing burner whose fuel gas nozzles project into the combustion chamber, fuel gas, oxygen or air and waste gas being fed to the burner. The device finally comprises means for feeding and removing oxidizing agents and/or sorbents to and from a scrubbing chamber above the combustion chamber. The object of the invention is to provide a waste gas purification device which can be produced economically and avoids the disadvantages of the prior art. The invention is characterized in that the burner (12) is secured centrally in the covering (5) and comprises fuel gas nozzles (13) and at least one waste gas nozzle (14) which is directed vertically downwards into the combustion chamber (6). The reaction products generated during the combustion process are guided along the inner side of the outer tube (1) into the scrubbing chamber (7).
